Song Feedback - Angels We Have Heard on High
« on: December 16, 2012, 06:41:43 PM »
Well, it's that time of year again.  I'm actually a bit late this year in working on a Christmas song for my mom.  It's still a work in progress, but I figured I'd ask for feedback on what I have so far:

Guess everybody's afraid to tell me it sucks. :\

Uploaded a new version - started working on the drums and such.

The start sits on C too much imo.  Probably jump down to the 4th occasionally, but thats just me.

Nice.
Id suggest maybe a snare drum every now and then.
or a tom tom or a bass drum something to shake it up a little bit.

It sounds pretty nice.

I wanted to give feedback a couple of days ago but it was late and I had to get to bed. For some reason, it slipped my mind since then.

Will you make a MIDI file of this song?

This song would not be perfect without vocals. Go for it! :)

I don't think so. I like it, it's a nice background music to relax.

Well, the 2nd (j) version has a drum loop.  The first one does not.  I had our music guy at work listen to it, and he preferred it without the drum beat (said it was a bit too clubby, and the other instruments were enough to stand on their own).  I'll probably scale the drums back a bit.

Cam: I can see that - I have a repeating loop in that section and just kind of made a tune to go along with it.  Maybe I'll switch it up a bit if I have time.

the backing track  should be slowed to match the mood of the strings imo. its pretty chill though

In case anybody cares, I ended up taking the drums out completely.  I didn't have enough time to work them in well, so this is what I ended up with:
