Feature:Different types of playing postures in game
« on: February 05, 2013, 03:02:26 AM »
Most of games allow using Lean left and Lean right postures
also dp2 would be fun with Lying down posture
well the game already has it(when u die u mostly r lying)
so can these positions be added to game
as one could peak in a room before entering rather than just entering the room with a camping enemy  8)

http://dplogin.com/dplogin/featurevote/feature.php?id=10114 - prone
http://dplogin.com/dplogin/featurevote/feature.php?id=10051 - leaning

I don't think either of these really fit the game, with as fast paced as it is.

Leaning isnt used in any online multiplayer game(or none that i know of), and there is a good reason for it. Imagine the way you would feel aiming at crouching guy who is leaning left, his model would be..meh, corrupted. Even now its hard to hit someone when he is crouching.
About the prone, as jitspoe said it doesnt fit this game well. Even crouch is only used to dodge lines/peak over the corner without using walk/run. And i didnt even mention new paths which werent supposed to be there this would open (maps which come to mind are shz33, pbcup_renoir, carpathian,...).
Imo, not the a good idea for this game.

There are actually a number of FPS games that support leaning (FEAR, Crysis, Arma II, early Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon games, Half-Life Digital Paintball).  I still don't really care for it, though.  Just another button to press that doesn't add that much to the gameplay.

I'd love to see a 'dive' added to the game. Dive through lines, pew pew.

Basically!

diving is more difficult to add than prone

Probably, but I see diving being more useful/fun.

For diving, crouch sliding is somewhat similar, if you can convince a server owner to leave it on/use new physics.

that killed the famous and one of the best tactics in the COD called dropshots.....

This game already has some leaning I think, when I'm spectatoring I see some leaning action happening, is that just me or anyone else see that as well?
