Problem with valid generated keys now is that they're not activated(and 99% of the time can't be) and fail WGA authentication.  This causes nag screens and prevents you from downloading things from the MS Download Centre. Then it becomes a hobby to crack it each time they push a new WGA update through Windows Update.

Good luck with it anyway, though  :-\

I've actually changed a lot of stuff now, chose a slightly more expensive thing here and made up for it by getting a slightly less expensive something else. I also discovered that the case I thought was more expensive than TinMan's at first is actually a little more if you factor in mail-in rebates and shipping, and I like the other option more.

lol, you can always do something naughty for a dollar  :P
My XP Corp always works 100% with WGA, probably because the keys that I use for it are legal, and since its corporate I really only need one of them, but I got more than one because I got my connections with people who's sucker businesses use XP Pro.

Go with Ubuntu man!!! Or maybe dual-boot!!!!! lol
I try to avoid using XP, I still have a hologramemd Win2K Pro CD that I try to use when I'm running windows, it runs oh-so-smooth and doesn't hog anything at all, just get rid of the default explorer shell and install bb4win and I'm set.

http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=2800 -- looks like AMD CPU prices are dropping after the 24th, so you might want to hold off a few days.
