Server Issues
« on: July 22, 2013, 09:15:38 AM »
I was trying to run a home server a few days ago and the black screen showed up and said heartbeat acknowledged. I then saw my server on my server list, but everyone else told me that the server ShAwNtHeeKiLLeR's pub wasnt showing up on their server list even after pressing update.

Hmm... I don't think anything's wrong with the black box running the server. Maybe it's a server.cfg file issue.

Why hello again xD.
Honestly, from what I've seen and what you've told me, either start the entire server thing over or just leave it alone and not have one.

Your ports are probably not forwarded correctly on your router.  Merged these topics and put them in the server section.

Someone told me that i need to portforward it. They were all booked up and he told me that i couldn't until 7/31/13. Is there any way I can run my server now? HALP

That's a port forwarding guide, it's very simple to do yourself.

I went to that website and tried downloading it. It later messed up my entire internet! Thanks a lot Rick. One of my friends Lazers got a home server a few months ago and he said that he never had to portforward anything. Can someone find a solution to my problem?

Downloading what? It's a guide... You don't need to download anything. All the guide shows you is how to connect to your Router and port forward.

This is the NetGear Router Table, choose your router model.
After that, select Quake 2.
Follow the guide. (See Superman's guide for the static IP part).

I did all the stuff on that port-forwarding site, but when I entered the pw for the ATT U-Verse (Type of router I have) It wouldn't work. So that's why I can't really port-forward my server... for now.

We can help you :) What's the model of your Netgear Router? (It's not just 32 :P) Should start with letters.
