if you were to get a mobo for a dell you need to do some much crap, they have terrible hardrives, etc. its complicate, no point in upgrading them besides a vid card

I haven't read anything, because I don't want to.

However, if you have not bought this yet I'll sell you mine. It's good (I believe) and it's PCI.

Get at me next time you see me active on irc.

The deal is a friend of mine sent Smokey a video card that will definately play BF2 plenty well.
Smokey just doesn't have a motherboard that has pciExpress on it.

Option #1:
Buy a motherboard that will fit everything you currently have AND has a pciXpress slot on it.
Nothing major about this. You go to newegg.com and look up a motherboard that matches what you need.

Option #2:
Send the vid card back and do something else.
This option is going to cost you alot more money.

You are not going to find a PCI card that is going to be strong enough to handle BF2. Hell the best AGP card out (7800 GS OC) can just compfortably handle BF2 as it is.

If you need help getting a new MoBo just msg me on IRC and i'll look at it for ya.
Or...if you are serious....we have a hardware guru in our BF2 team that will be glad to specifically spec something out for you if you post to him, Verncat, on our forums. http://teamc3forums.aspire.ws/default.aspx
He maintains a nice hardware section on our website aswell http://teamc3.aspire.ws/VerncatsCorner/tabid/63/Default.aspx

You just need one  that is workable with your hard drive and excrement, you need an intel mobo first of all, just look at the socket type and whatever.

Socket 487? Wtf is that?
I haven't seen a Socket 478 with PCI-E ever, only PCI.
