Weird Scan Lines In My Map Textures
« on: July 06, 2006, 06:43:13 PM »
I was wondering...

Does anybody know why these weird rainbow scan lines appear sometimes during the games?

For example...Check out:

I have never seen those before, it might be a bug, or you might need to update your video drivers...now that you brought it up though, everyone's gonna suggest you update your video drivers, so I suggest that you make sure they're up to date and then see if the problem still occurs.

That's a very odd glitch. It's probably something wrong with your video card, as no one else seems to have reported it. Unless it just happens on that map, in which case it's probably a map problem. What map is that, by the way?

Well...

Cant remember what map it was, but it seems to happen on some of the maps only... not all of them

As far as graphics drivers go, I'm running on a laptop with built-in ATI graphics (nothing fancy)... The drivers are as up to date as they can be...hmmm...

It is pretty cool, I have no clue why it would happen, but it does... it even happens with the gun sometimes!!! Ill post more pictures if they show up again!

Thanks for the help!

Is your laptop's ATI an IGP 320M by any chance?

It's probably a hardware error or a driver bug.  Looks like your texture memory is getting corrupted.  I think this has happened to me a couple times with my ATI card.  Just par for the course using ATI, and laptop manufacturers are bad about keeping drivers updated.  Typing "vid_restart" at the console might correct it.

Easy fix, vid_restart. I'd just double check on the update.

Hey,

Sorry to waste time on this issue, I just got a new computer with a GeForce 6150 LE, so hopefully we wont have anymore "line issues" :)

Thanks for the help!
