priv. server won't stay private.

I started a server for my friends and I to play on. I wanted it private cuz we just mess around and play not really being serious. Anyways, my question is after a while it goes public and it's on the list. I have
set public 0
and
set match_timeout 0

but I still see "PASSWORD HAS TIME OUT." I tried searching for it but nothing. It also sets the password to nothing so that anyone can come in, basically publicmode.cfg. There's nothing I can find that would make the server reset on the cfg file. Is this a bug or something I'm doing wrong?

I'm using +set dedicated 1 +set public 0 +exec myserver.cfg

did that too, it's now on the pub servers list with a password.

The line "set public 1" appears twice in the server.cfg file.  Make sure both are set to zero (or take out one of those lines), and not just one of them setting it to 0 and another making it 1 again.

Just have it on the public server list with a pw, noone will get in except your friends :p

yeah, was thinking of doing that, thing is, after a while too it goes back to all the defaults it had before. meaning no password too.
