Web Serverbrowser by hTml
« on: June 25, 2014, 07:50:34 AM »
Hi!
I had some free time and i wrote a web serverbrowser.
It's available at http://htmldp.com/sb.
Server stats are refreshed every 20 seconds, serverlist is updated every 1 minute.
Enjoy & post your feedback here :)

Nice work. One thing, you forgot to add the port to "Join Game".

Edit: You should just show one line of server info and when someone clicks on it, it will pop up a div under it with all  info.

v1.1
[BUGFIX] Connecting players are displayed now on a grey background.
[FEATURE] You are now able to link a server/make an iframe with its stats. Help page is available at http://sb.htmldp.com/addsb.html
[FEATURE] Linked map names to their downloads
[FEATURE] The player list is now scrollable, so the table isn't resized when there are more players online.
[FEATURE] Server's IP and port are now displayed.
[FEATURE] You can now access the website from http://sb.htmldp.com

[BUGFIX] The app doesnt crash when the list from http://dplogin.com/serverlist.php is downloaded as empty because of no connection to dplogin.com.

As less rude as possible why would people use this instead of the server browser that comes with the game?

What if you're stranded in the wilderness and NEED to see who's online. ;)

If you're stranded in the wilderness this wont help either - or are you able to pull a mobile transmission tower supplying internet access out of your ***?

I just personally think it's a waste of time. Unless you added a friend system and could track and see when your friends play and if they are currently on. Also adding some type of messenger could be cool.

But just another server browser is useless when the game comes with one.

I'll add a 'last seen playing' function in the next update. I mean something like Yuri's !seen on irc.
Also adding some type of messenger could be cool.
I'll have to run a python script on every pb server to make it real.

Not a messenger to message people in game. Something more of if people are on the site you can message them like Facebook has.
