Fps Lag
« on: November 02, 2015, 09:12:47 PM »
Ever since i got build 41, I've been getting very low fps (10-20) on every map. It didnt happen on build 40. FYI, it's not a lag thats happening, it's just that the game isnt "smooth" when i play.. idk how to say it better. It's like all glitchy and stuff, I can't do jumps easily. I've tried some of the commands I've always been using like r_caustics 0, r_reflectivewater 0, gl_dynamic 0, and gl_brightness 1. It may be the new high res textures. Am i able to downgrade back to build 40 or fix something with the game?

I don't think anything really changed much that would impact performance between b40 and b41.  You can run the b40 install over your current build and it should maintain all your settings and such without an issue.  I'm curious if the performance is better when you do that.

If you didn't have highres textures before and are using them now, that can certainly impact performance if your video card doesn't have enough memory (highres textures are basically unplayable on my old laptop).  You can go into the options and disable them or just type this at the console:

gl_highres_textures 0

Thx jitspoe. gl_highres_textures 0 reduced my fps lag.

No wonder. You should get some real graphics horsepower if you want high-res textures :)

I still get some fps lag on few maps like twiling_b3 and zpar11_beta. Not on other maps though. Is there something with these  maps?

Yea well what is different with these maps compared to maps like wobluda ,vendetta, etc that make them create more fps lag?

Well, they take a lot of space especially in the middle of the map so the pc has to produce more graphics at a Shorter time i guess. I bet you have These Problems on Renoir too.If you have it on tighter maps too they are probably lightened bad(original wobluda, Coaster, street_brawl,....).
