Your topic won't be locked because of off-topic chatter. It might be split, or the offending person warned, but you won't be punished.

At first glance that looked like kaos.  The trees are certainly better than most -- looks like they took a lot of brushes to make.

Looks a bit like brainstorm . . . does it have the same kind of map layout?

I can't make out the trees very well because of the vertex lines, but from what I can make out - looks pretty good I must say :).

You should use the bark texture on the tree trunks instead of the wood texture.

The rock walls, must they be flat?

I'm working a bit on that....

Each tree takes 17 brushes: two hollowed 8 sided cones with the bottom removed, set to detail and mist, and the trunk.

Sorta like Brainstorm....except instead of a lake there is a lavapit :)

I already have two routes into the base. More screens in a while.

Ok, just checked it out:

- It's really small -- probably won't handle much more than 2v2 well.
- The banner textures are  misaligned.  Looks like you need to get the updated .wal pack for the properly sized textures.
- The flags can't be captured (that or I'm completely missing the capture point).
- There's only one entrance to the base (unless those colored warp walls act as teleports or something -- they didn't seem to do anything).
- You shouldn't make the paint puddles transparent, if you have reflective water on, it looks like regular water (and paint isn't transparent anyway).
- Wood texture on the tree trunks looks bad.  Use bark instead.
- You should use the hay textures for the hay bales.  It looks weird to have random blocks of wood there.  Some day the hay textures will be redone to look more realistic.

I'm not using the .wal textures. I have GTKRadiant configed to use direct .jpg files. So if there is a .jpg update I would like that....
I thought it was fairly large. bigger than some anyways :)
Crap , I just realised I haven't set up the bases yet.
I may make those into transporters or something.  I might have to take out one spawn area though.
I wanted it to look like lava, although it isn't transparent either.
I will use the bark textures, and update the hay bales/blocks of wood.

The capture point will be where the flag is.

Hmmm....I will probably make at least one of the portals into a teleporter. One end will most likely be in the lava area. But what should I do with the other portal? Transfer the guy to the center of the map?

Is there any way to change the diminsions of the transporter?

Currently no.  I've been meaning to make a brush entity for that, but for now you just have to place multiple teleporters around if you want to cover a larger area.
