If you still have a working demo of an old match, would you record it again for a community video or keep the original movie as it was?
I'd separate two things: preserving the original edit and getting a clearer view of the play. Re-recording a demo could offer a new capture, but it wouldn't automatically preserve the old camera choices, HUD or timing of the finished movie. I'd keep that original either way.
If only a small encoded movie survives, an enlargement through
Video2X could be worth comparing. I'd pay particular attention to moving players, paint streams and the scoreboard. A cleaner-looking number that isn't supported by the source would be a reason to leave that part alone, not an improvement to the record.
For old DP footage, is the bigger obstacle usually finding a playable demo, recreating the recording setup or dealing with the only video copy that's left?
