« on: August 28, 2006, 12:10:38 PM »
is there a pack u can download for worldcraft texture packs or somthing?i'm looking for the pball2 textures.if there is a place to get the default pball 2 textures in a pack tell me were.or if it is possible to take all the textures in different files and put them in one .wad/.pak.in bsp and gtkraidiant they had textures. i only used gtkraidiant for wolfenstein enemy territory though.by now i'm probably getting annoying i just can't find out how.

Be patient. You waited 15 minutes between those two post.

Also, please DO NOT DOUBLE POST. If you want to add something on to your last post, use the modify button.

.map files are the "source" file to the map, dpball2 can't run that file. You need to open the .map file using the BSP map editor, and then compile the map into a playable .bsp map. To run the map you put it in you /pball/maps/ folder, and can then run it from console (~) using "map <mapname>".
Since the map will be a beta, name it something like <mapname>_bv1.bsp, as in "beta version 1", just add something like that to the end so that you don't have a bunch of versions of the map laying around with the same name in different folders.

You use the BSP map editor (name of the editor). http://dpball.com/files/mapmaking/bsp_pb2_build015b.zip

The .bat file is a script that will export/compile the .map to a .bsp.

make sure you extracted the bsp zip file and then renamed it to be "bsp" and put it in C:\, so that it will be: C:\bsp\

Did you read the installation file and get all the directories set? It sounds like you didn't.

You haven't seem to have read the installation file that comes with the pball mapmaking pack. It tells you how to set up the directories so the compiler and such knows where everything is.

Download the latest version of BSP, then download the pball map pack, put all the files in that in BSP. Then read the installation file, follow it's instructions, and map.

You just copy the BSP folder in the pball pack over the actualy BSP folder.
