Tremulous

http://www.tremulous.net/
For those of you who somehow still don't know what the game is, here it is: RTS + FPS = TREM!!!111
It will remind you of Natural Selection, except that it uses Icculus's version of the Quake 3 engine...so it looks better...and plays better...etc.

Aight, so me and Smokey were playing so I decided to cam it for all of you. DL trem, put the demo file in /tremulous/base/demos/, then run it with "/demo killaz" from console.

http://upload.arena-zone.com/522582

You might not want to watch the beginning part, where I'm spectating...you might want to have the window minimized for that (alt+enter, then ~ to pull down console to get cursor to minimize)
I tend to make people sick with demo's of my spectator movement...

This game is horrible. Play it only if you like moving 2mph as a big ass spider or a stupid human. Warsow > tremulous

Which is why you use different classes at different times, you don't want to be a tyrant when all the humans have jetpacks and are flying around above you, nor do you want to be a dragoon when the humans have light armor and lass guns, you move too slow. You also need to learn how to be sneaky, rush in, kill, and then rush out before you die.
Warsow must have the worst weapons ever. Hell, Nexuiz > Warsow.

Worst weapons ever? It's called people have armor on etc. There is strong ammo for each weapon, pick it up it makes a difference.

I'm not talking about damage, I know that, I've actually played the game that I'm telling you isn't impressive. The actual weapons are just really bad, I'd take the Quake 3 weapon set over them anyday.

"/cg_fov #", but by default its disabled serverside with other "cheats". Alien's get different fov's by class, which is why changing it is disabled. Humans are always 90.

This game > Warsow. Warsow really only looks good, I haven't had any fun playing it at all.

That's also why you don't like tremulous, "you don't know how to move."

I dug up a killing spree demo that I did: http://upload.arena-zone.com/160120
* TinMan makes a mental note: when its SD, there's no spawns, and living players are stacked like 5:1, don't evolve to Advanced Dragoon, no matter how tempting the sniper barbs are.

I checked it out.  It's not really my thing.  Everybody just stayed in their base and it took forever for the game to end.  The item system is also rather cumbersome.  It's difficult to use what you need when you need it.  There's no setup menu until you actually connect to or create a server.  It kind of seems like a cross of natural selection and AVP.  The aliens suffer the same problem the ones in AVP did, too.  You walk on some detail on the ceiling, like a pipe or something, and you start spinning around in freaking circles and have no idea what direction you're facing.  I was able to kill quite a few people with the basic alien guy, though.  It was always the turrets that ended up killing me.

I also hate having to buy things.  After I'd build up enough stamina to jump over all the turrets and other crap in the base and squeeze through the cluster of people surrounding the health station and equipment thing, I'd go through the slow menu system, start getting what I needed, then we'd get raided and I'd die lose everything.
