Internet Explorer losing Majority
« on: September 19, 2006, 02:52:39 PM »
Just out of curiosity, I checked the logs from today.  136 hits from IE.  Firefox alone almost tied it with 130.  Throw in another 15 hits from Opera, Konqueror, and a couple other Gecko-based browsers, and IE makes up less than half the web hits.  It's a lot better than it used to be!  It was kind of disheartening seeing like 90% of the hits coming from IE a while back.  I have hope, now!

Not to mention it's where 99% of spyware and other garbage comes from.

Ew...its dat green one that made my LCD look broke. Look for the Tango themes, OpenDesktop icons and themes are really neat looking, Ubuntu killed them with its "tangerine" twist on tango.

i hate to say you were right.

One night the x-wife asked me while  on the computer web browsing "do we want to change our home page, honey?"  I yelled  WHA?T noooOOOOO!!! and ran over to the living room and  in a panic. She kindly agreed to the requested change and presto insta porn. I am talking animal freak man hole porn. We were able to load pages but after 2 links into the page, ugg porn. So I downloaded firefox off of netscape then spybot to clean up my os and EI.

Lessons learned.
IE SUCKS HARD - thanks Jitspoe I should have listened.
X-WIFES or WIFES in general DONT LISTEN. -Thanks God I should have just  kept her barefoot and pregnant and married 2 more.

I typically use Opera.  If it doesn't load in Opera, I try Firefox.  If it doesn't load in Firefox, I don't load it.  Unless, of course, it's work related, and they have a bunch of non standards compliant scripts and crap that have to be loaded in IE (and even then they're still godawful - who hires these web developers?).

Yeah, I fire up Opera when I know I'm gonna be doing some intense tabbing and don't want firefox to lock up when I'm opening the 20th tab. XHTML valid sites ftw. I find it sad that my school has webdesign classes and they almost all use Frontpage or Dreamweaver, and then their website isn't even valid html and css...for a school, that's pretty bad.
