Stuttering Start - Up
« on: October 04, 2006, 11:06:12 AM »
When I go to run Paintball2 it starts and when it goes to the main screen the sound stutters and loops and skips and everything is very laggy and it takes minutes to move my mouse to the word Play.

I am running Windows XP, Mobile Pentium 2 GHz, 512MB RAM, ATI mobility Radeon 7500 (16 MB).

Oh, and on my other computer, I have a question about resolution.  It is a widescreen 19" monitor with a resolution of 1440x900.  What resolution should I select in DP for that monitor?

It sounds like your drivers aren't installed properly.  As for your monitor, that resolution isn't currently supported.  You might want to just run the game in a window.

But sometimes it goes just fine.  Others, not so much.

Do you have other programs (such as a virus scan) running that are taking up your resources?  Open task manager and see if there are any processes using up much CPU and memory.

Are your sound card drivers the most recent?  If onboard see if there is an updated bios version for your mobo...  I had the same problem back when we used the Quake 2.
