Running a Server on Win98

Ok I got a comp with Windows 98 with a 4mb vid card, is it still possible to run a dedicated server with it?

You need windows vista with a 512MB video card.

Once you're done with Win98, install ubuntu 5.10 on it.

I got XP, but i have 2 comps laying around with win98 on em and wonder if i could use em

From the info you've provided, there is nothing that excludes it from being able to run a dedicated server. The question is, what type of internet connection do you have? Then look into your RAM and CPU, and read this: http://digitalpaint.planetquake.gamespy.com/docs/server_guide_win32.html

Your connection is the only thing that can possibly limit things. You'll be lucky to handle 4 people with little lag on most broadband connections.

Use the modify button, don't double post.
Yeah, cable has good download, but usually has nasty upload. I've run a cable server with 14 people and nobody in the same country as me complained about any lag, but just to be safe, I wouldn't exceed 8 maxplayers and expect it to be fun.

running a dedicated cable server from your house is always a good idea maxpower.

First off im not running a server anymore second im running xp now with 384mb ram which im upgrading to 3.0ghz with 4gigs of ram and a 512mb video card
