Two New Maps Released...

I had initially planned on making around 5 to 8 maps and releasing a S8NSSON mappack, but I can't stand waiting so i'm releasing the first two now.

I'm hoping a server admin would be so kind as to set one, or both, of these maps into rotation on one of the public server :o
They should prove to be great fun!

Jitspoe mentioned someone making an entire map out of crates the other day. hmm  ;)
What about one made completely out of barrels? :o

Well by the looks of the sshots, they don't look too shabby. I'll test 'em out and get back to ya.

maybe we can get it up on a server and have the admin bring down the gravity a bit :)

take note most peeps like me read the forums once a day or less but every time a new post comes around 15 peeps read it again another new post 15 peeps (same peeps) read it again. so 40 peeps looking at it is really low. so lets see 5 new post lets say 10 peeps reread this one every new post that will get you 50 peeps who have read the post. not trying to bring you down and all but just trying to help you understand that. i think it sould have log in thing so you only count as one even if you are the same guy so i can log in read one post 50,000 times and it will only count me as 1 who have read it.

Well, that would require logging the names of each person who viewed the thread, then searching through the log every time someone views it and seeing if the person has viewed it already.  A bit of overhead to do something like that as opposed to just incrementing a value.

That and I'd have to code it -- considering how long my todo list is for paintball, I think my time would be better spent working on that. :)

I agree, work on paintball while everyone else DOWNLOADS MY MAPS!!!!
I guess everyone in the world could download my map, but if it's not on a server it means nothing :(

lol I have two user names for a few reasons that are somewhat consequential of eachother.

1) You don't allow users to create thier own passwords.
2) I check forums from home and work.
3) I forgot, or was too lazy, to email the forum created password to my house.

So I end up having two accounts.
Does this upset anyone?

Yeah, the reason it emails you the password is because some certain individuals were abusing the board.

Just a little tidbit of info...

Olympiad's design was stolen from a Q3 map I did for a Q3 mod I wrote for our at work LAN games.

Check out a screenshot (compare it to Olympiad's screenshot above):

Well i was thinking and decided that some of you might be interested in the mod i wrote. It is alot of fun and whacky too!

Unzip the mod to your quake3 folder (the zip will put everything where it needs to be).
Run the mod by running mymod2.bat in the root quake3 directory.

The readme:
MyMod is a Quake3Arena mod written by S8NSSON

Written for Pointrelease 1.32 (i think that's the latest and last)
This mod was designed for a LAN. Use over the internet at your own risk ;)

What the mod does:

Rocket Launcher:
Rockets fly almost as fast as a rail (pretty much instant)
Rocket firing frequency is increased dramatically
Rocket splash damage is increased, but splash radius is reduced
Rocket jumping is insane.

Rail Gun:
Rail frequency is increased
Rails bounce four times (off of four walls)
Rail damage is increased

Plasma Gun:
You only get five rounds of plasma ammo.
A fired plasma round does not move. It becomes a proximity mine.
You have a few seconds to get away from it after activating (firing).
Your own plasma proximity will not damage you, but will throw you across the map
and potentially into someone elses plasma proximity.

Shotgun:
You get 50 (I think) rounds of ammo.
Firing rate is ultra fast.
Just about everything that quake3 lets you fire comes out of your shotgun when
fired.
This weapon will kill about anything in the map, but 50 rounds goes in a flash.

Player:
You move ultra fast
You have lots of armor and health
Virtually no fall damage

This mod is INSANE, CRAZY, WACKED, and any other explatives you can think of.
