Jitspoe,
How long is this vote for? I don't think anyone should vote until they have tasted 17.

(Kind of odd you would be interested in this and not shoring up the lack of a strong clan base. You're the boss. Lead on us onward.)

With that said: 'Grapple Hook' (not lithium). Its not like this is paintball (as its known) other than the guns and the balls.

have filters on the server list. i hate seeing a whole bunch of servers with 0's on them or maps i don't like. you know, stuff like counter-strike.

oh and remove color text. that gets so annoying when people spam that.

2 layer textures:
Ability to place a secondary texture over top of a primary texture. This would absolutely allow map makers to improve the look of their maps.

Imagine, if you will, applying a wall texture, and as a secondary texture, placing a thin floor/ceiling/floor&ceiling boarder texture on top of it with the portion of that secondary texture that isn't part of the border masked out with alpha channel.

Imagine, also, that you have create this fancy dirt path. Instead of using the current 2 and 3 step boarder textures Jitspoe has in the game now, you could place primary grass throughout, and place a secondary dirt texture over top through the path utilizing some edge blending and smoothing to make the texture less abrupt in transition.

Part of this feature was in Descent 1 & 2, and the multi layered (up to as many as 8 layers with blending I think) is currently used in many recent game such as Battlefield2.

I understand, from a map editor & engine point of view, this feature would probably be very difficult to implement. But it would be SWEET!!!

Multiple textures per texture chosen at pseudo random:
Currently, if I understand correctly, you have the ability to maintain multiple sounds for every event. What sound is played for that event is chosen at random during play.

How about the same idea for texture?

Using a predefined naming convention, you could designate multiple textures for a texture category. What texture gets shown is chosen at random. This would allow variations in the look of maps.

Sure, this is a game, I should say : an adictive game !

The adiction can lead to miss some real life event ...

Leaning around corners? That was brought up before, and Jitspoe said that would take lots of work. I think he said that the player model had to be completely redone as well as the bounding box for the player. I would love to be able to lean around corners, but I doubt it will be in build 17. Build 18 maybe?

I knew you'd gonna support my vote ;D

Leaning around corner would be a cool feature, too, but I'd suggest redoing the player model would be needed as well ;)

1: Menu links to download more maps - Gremlin
1: More cheat detection - Gremlin
1: New gun models - Gremlin
1: PK3's - Smokey
1: Ugly Q3 name colors ;) - TinMan
1: In-game clock (with alarm) - abrken
1: Enlarge lists (server lists, scoreboard, etc.) to display more characters - abrken
1: Indicator for password-protected servers - abrken
1: "Best of" page to display the most popular maps / best players - abrken
1: Grapple - loial21
1: Server list filters - Anarchy
1: (Option to) disable colored text in chat - Anarchy
1: New (selectable) player skins - bitmate
1: 2-layer textures (might require a new map format) - S8NSSON
1: Random texture selection - S8NSSON

Gremlin: Well, lots of games focus on outdated weapons -- look how many WW2 shooters there are out there.  Personally I like the beefy cold steel look of the old guns more than the curvy cartoon alien laser blaster look of the new ones.  They certainly need to be redone one way or another, though, just from a quality perspective.

Smokey: Mappers can already use pak files.  I think I even added support for a pak subdirectory so they don't clutter the pball directory.

[bd]imalamp: I'm not sure I follow your requests.  Try to be a little more specific as to what you want and I'll add your votes to the list.

TinMan: Q3 colors are ugly -- with bright green, cyan, pink... yuck.  Plus you can't use the ^ in text, and it would mean rewriting a bunch of stuff and people would be seeing different things with different builds.

PiCaSSo: Color codes are already stripped in the console logs.  There's an option for it that should be enabled by default.  Closing tags should also already be put on there.  I just stripped the colors out for the status command a couple days ago: http://dplogin.com/forums/index.php?topic=5025.0

abrken: I always play in windowed mode, so I can see the clock (plus I have a watch, hah).  I'm sure you could probably get another program with alarms and whatnot, too.  The "best of" page would probably lead to a bunch of controversy/heated debates, so I'm not sure that would be a good idea.

loial21: The reason I'm doing this is because people keep making suggestions and I tell them to throw it on the feature vote list, but there isn't one.  This vote will span several builds.  I'm not going to do what I did last time and just have one vote per build then try to accomplish that feature.  It's taking far too long for some features.  Instead I'll just work on periodic releases while focusing on features that are at the top of the list, but not necessarily completing them before the next release.

S8NSSON: This might already be possible with rscripts.  You can mix/match/blend/rotate/scale/move/etc. different texture layers with rscripts, much like Quake3.

Just for the record, I hate leaning in games... that's the only thing I don't like about FEAR (well, that and the 10-feet away melee attacks).

1.How about new guns? Models and skins, even if it is only 1 new gun.

2.Multiple player skins. With an in game menu to change them.

3.Maybe new sounds that come default?

4.A list of matching rules that should be followed by all clans.

Only a couple for now:

- vweps
- More administration features
- - Server specific login & ban based on Global Login name assignment
- - Connection list restricted by Global Login (ex: allowing clans to have private servers which allow only config defined members to join the server).
- - Add Global Login information to STDLogs (in Playerconnect?)

What is the option called and is it 0 or 1 to enable?
