Author Topic: New tournament starting 12th March (Read 12007 times)

This time 3v3, this time with more maps, this time more matches, this time without regions.
Tournament for 16 teams. The 1st week(12th-17th) is for group matches. 4 groups of 4 teams. 2 from each group go to play off phase (19th-25th March).
Game: 20 minutes, all usual settings.
Maplist:
Havent decided anything, there is much time til the tourny starts. I thought of having a maplist of like ~8maps. 1 team cant pick 1 map more than 2 times.
Few maps could be something that everyone knows and rotates in pub servers even (ex: pp1). Then few maps what are used in matches alot (ex: c1). Then few not so famous maps, but still interesting (ex: routez). Then maybe some of the newest maps (ex: clipz`s maps are interesting, ch40s`s razzle looks good to me).
Servers
Havent contacted any of the server owners yet, but from the last tournament noone told me to intercourse off whe i asked to use a server, so I am positive about getting some servers. I also hope Piccaso gives me a better login than last time (he gave me a login with what i could only change the map [ the server had 1 map in rotation...]) and I also hope noone changes the admin login in middle of the cup and not letting me know (like happened with OTB server).

The regsitering will be opened as soon as I talk with viciouz, match report system will be better aswell.

Meanwhile, when you cant register or anything, just help me with the maplist and idle in #tournyHQ.

Well, blaa, good idea, need to talk about this, maybe we should leave at least a couple more weeks before opening a tournament? It's only been a week since the final of the last one!

pp1, pwa as easy maps
c1, perf, round, ren as maps which are used in matches quite alot
razzle as a new map
and hell as a little bit exotic map

NHB for sure, and for another new map, why not that HCA_foretress or whatever it was called. that was a nice well-made map. Not many people like propaint2.

hca_fort sounds good. I really dislike pwa because of the ladders -- they leave the attackers far too vulnerable. Roundup makes a nice match map, and propaint1 seems to be pretty popular among the mid-level to experienced players.

This is the final maplist:
castle1, propaint1, pbcup_renoir, roundup, razzle, pbcup_sassault, rome, cancan

4 groups, 4 teams in group - 3 matches in group phase. Each team cvhooses a map, 1 team can not choose 1 map more than 2 times in this tournament. So, 1 match is 2 maps, if team wins 1 map then team gets 1 point. If team wins both maps in a match they get extra 0,5points. This helps to prevent ties.

If in playoff phase tie comes, then tie map will be played. The tie map will be agreed by 2 teams from the given maplist.

One another thing is, all teams will play 6 matches, which means all ranks will be filled. Each groups 1st and 2nd spot plays for places 1-8. 3rd and 4th spot plays for 9-16th spot.

Okay guys, the website is now up - http://www.viciouz.co.uk/other/dpcup/ - I think thats a good web and it satisfies our need very good.

Now to the 2nd thing i wanted to tell, is there anyone who wants to help us with this cup? Because i am going to work outside the city in the cups 2nd week and cant be online at all, so anyone willing to help? You wouldnt have to do much, maybe sometimes remind the teams that they have to match asap and stuff like that. Looking for 2 active guys. Apply via forum pm or catch me in irc.
