Name change
« on: March 19, 2007, 10:36:42 AM »
When I'm trying to change my name over console like "name blablabla" it says something like:

NAME1 -------- MWHEELUP
NAME! --------- MWHEELUP - DROPBARREL
NAME! --------- MWHEELUP - DROPBARREL
NAME! --------- MWHEELUP - DROPBARREL

or so. I know i need to delete the Aliases. But how to delelte aliases ingame? I need some help or an aliasdeletingcommand.

Dont u think i allready try'd that?! There is no key binded for changing name. That's why I'm wondering and posting in here.

So:

No key is binded for changing name,
when i type "name blablabla" it says something like i allready typed.
AND: When i change config manual, nothing changes too (and: yes, i allready loaded it...)

do you have an autoexec or possibly an alias notepad, ive seen in the quake2 days, people have other config files in there that work through alias's and other configs....check you haven't accidentally left a config in there you shouldnt have...

if you have all the configs gone, alias's and binds....
then theres nothing there to cause them...

Maybe I'll just do a new config. It will be the best...

Make sure you delete the content of the original config.cfg file, and re-write your custom binds on that one.  If you have an alternate config file, and you play a game on it, whatever binds you use in-game will be saved to the orig. config.cfg.  Then even though you may exec a 3rd config, it will still read binds on the config.cfg.

I discovered this when me and a roomie were using the same comp. to play, and we had separate configs for our own settings.
