When I was a young lad living in Miami my dad had a 24ft boat and we used to go fishing out in the gulf stream all the time.
Unless you've ever seen it, you can't imagine the beauty of hooking into a school of Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi dolphin, not Flipper).
The leader of the school would always get first go at the bait. Keep that first fish in the water and the school would stay around you boat.
Throw anything shiny out and they would kill it viciously. We would pull them in by the boat loads.
They are beautiful with flashing blues and greens. They really show off a beautiful color display when they get excited.

The first fish I ever caught in my life was a 24LB Mahi-Mahi.

Hooking that fish was an amazing moment, we were out fishing for maybe 3 hours and only had 3 bites( barracuda, sail fish and another mahi).
I fought that fish for maybe 5 minutes, it was constantly peeling out the line for maybe 2 minutes of that. Finally got that beast in and it felt amazing.

Never got to eat it though, heard it was a delicacy...
