I was playing this awesome game in gym class and I thought it was be great to play it in dp.  Its a siege based map, but mainly only for the team switches between sides.

One team "defends" and stands in the stone ally-ways to the sides of the main path and protect the flag.  The "attackers" rush the flag on the green turf and attempt to cap before they all die/time runes out.  There are clip brushes preventing attackers/defenders to mix in any way.

looks like all you wiould have to do to defend is everyone gather around the flag and line the hill. it seems easy to defend and there wouldnt be any grabs.

Ya, I'll attach beta2 once its compiled.  I added triangle wedge grass for better terrain (thx to SkateR for the idea)

Also fixed some textures and whatnot.

I should be done tonight.

I like the map but the scoring is a little screwed up. I played it with a bot and when I shot the bot I got 3 points. 2 for the kill and 1 for winning the round (I'm assuming). With this scoring the game would be over almost as soon as it started. Scoring more like what is in siege castle would be better in my opinion.

Also the map is just kinda floating in mid air if you could put some walls on it with some windows I think it would look a lot better.

Please find somewhere new where we can download the map. The process of downloading took me around 2-3 minutes before the download even started. If you decide to do this I suggest using http://www.savefile.com

The scoring is based off of the gametype, not map. You don't get any points for killing, just winning rounds.

I couldn't really tell in the 1v1 with a bot. I thought the scoring was similar to siegecastle where you get a point for a kill. Like I said I was just assuming.

I have two questions...

How can I add bots to try it out?
and
How do you get your frame rates pass 60? (Mine seem to be locked there, even though I average 160 on hl2)

You don't get a point for a kill in siegecastle.

As Kilo said, having to wait for the download to start is really annoying.  Why not just attach the map to the forum post?  Here's a mirror for those who don't want to wait: http://dplogin.com/files/maps/beta/tod_b2.bsp

It's also up on the beta server for testing.  I'll send you a PM with details.  I made a little demo of things that need tweaking.  Mostly just some brush alignments, the shadows being too dark, and some texture rotations.

y00tz: "sv addbot", and "gl_swapinterval 0; cl_locknetfps 0; cl_maxfps 0", and possibly disable vertical sync in your driver settings as well.

eiii: Defense gets 1 point per kill.  Offense gets like 6 points for a flag capture, so it typically balances out (unless you have a lot more than 10 people playing).

I think you might be better off if you went with a stinger or a trracer instead of a pgp. It will make the rounds go a little bit quicker.
