Digital Paintball 2: Community Edition
« on: April 14, 2007, 05:15:04 AM »
After a couple of days of thinking, and with the help of jitspoe and Zorchenhimer, I am proud to present:

Digital Paintball 2: Community Edition

Basically, this is an extended install to install 7 packages:

  • Digital Paintball 2 Build016
  • A map pack of the more commonly played pub and match maps
  • The latest version of the server browser
  • The latest BSP pack
  • Worldcraft
  • Mapping Tutorials
  • Zorchenhimer's Menus

There are options to install each one of these. As this is the first release, I am still getting to grips with a tool called MSIbuilder, and until then, we're going to have to use a simple batch script.

The pack can be downloaded here:
US Mirrors

Euro Mirrors
ftp://85.214.56.218/pub/Game/DP2-CE-b016-beta-install.exe
http://qehs.indiereview.co.uk/webspell/index.php?site=files&file=4
Any more mirrors for euro players would be welcome.

If you think anything else should be put in the pack or you know how to make a better installer interface, post a reply or send me a PM.

If you think you could make a linux installer for these packages please PM me.

Once again the download link:

Download, install and enjoy.

Please post any feedback here.

Download doesn't work. The Download is linked to the file "SWG_YT-1300_Demo.wmv" (22,9 MB)

Zorchenhimer's Menus

Is that the updated one from yesterday? The older one had serious issues.

Something i've always wanted. Thank you viciouz, zorchenheimer and jits. This should be the official download link now.

Jitspoe/Zorch, could you implement something like the mouse sensitivity "change-bar" for the fov change in the Setup/Controls. Would be helpful for the newbies i think.

How about InstallCreator?

Yeah, I don't want that nag screen at the end, it irritates me to hell, and anyway, I'd have to rebuild the installer for the game and for worldcraft, which I don't want to do, because I would probably mess it up.

Cobo, Install Creator doesn't have that good of compression ratios. For example, I wanted to make an installer for all the maps I had for other people in my dorm so they didn't have to download them at 2 k/sec in-game. I forget how much it compressed it, but it took all day and didn't do much for the file size. I said "forget this" and zipped them in a 7z file, and cut the size in half at a much faster, and efficient, rate.

Kind of an old topic, but there's NSIS for the installer. I've used that myself; it's pretty good.

Yep.  I'm using it to make an installer for BSP.
