Mystery - Low FPS vanished!
« on: April 17, 2007, 04:39:55 PM »
I've been playing DP2 now for almost a month and it has consistently been at 57 fps.  I did all the tips that Jitspoe gave me in another thread - to no avail.

I have an AMD Athlon X2 5000+, 2 gigs of ram (with another 2gb still in the package because XP Media Center 2k5 HATES 4gbs..) and dual BFG 7600 GT OC's in SLI.
(I have DSL)

Mysteriously today with v-sync on, at 1280x1024 with hires textures, reflective water  etc,  I am now getting 400-500 average. Online, even on laggy servers it hasn't dipped below 350 (which is what I thought would be happening all along)

Outside of a crazy month long ISP problem, or a miracle by the flying spaghetti monster, can anyone explain this phenomenon?

On a side note - I got dual 24" flat panel widescreens with my tax return.. and I am loving it.  How long til this game supports 1680x1050?

:)

Smells like a vsync issue, especially since you just got a new monitor.

As long as it takes to download build 17, I believe. ;)
