Hall of mirrors in Siege Castle

Has anyone (else) ever experienced a HOM outside of the mote in Siege Castle?

It's not a leak. It's a VIS error that comes from complex brushwork that quake2 wasn't exactly designed to handle.

is yootz grass texture modified? are you allowed to do that?

It's a high-res texture, so yes.

That's one of the high-res grass textures somebody made for the high res texture packs, so it's ok.  Modifying the textures to make players easier to see, however, is not.

And siege castle has always had a vis error in that area.  One of these days I might fix that map up a bit.

That's one of the high-res grass textures somebody made for the high res texture packs, so it's ok.  Modifying the textures to make players easier to see, however, is not.

I made that grass a few weeks ago (it's 1024x1024) and the original version was too light and I didn't think it to be fair, so I darkened it.

LMAO, I guess you really don't know how ridiculous that sounds?
So where's the board of judges that determine if the texture I made breaks the rule of making players easier to see?
That's like the mattress tag laws. The laws are there, we all know them, but if we remove our tags no one would ever know unless we did something stupid like take a picture of our mattress and released it for the world to see.
