Second I never thought of it that way, thank you jitspoe, about the chasecam thing.

Finaly, lekky, though I do agree with you, I think there are many other advantages to low elim time server, such as not having to sit and do nothing for very long.

P.S. : I am really hopping not to see any  :o s after saying thiis (by the way, that is not an invitation to do just that) but counter strike is a type of game mode right? If so, how does it work ?

Counter-strike is a half-life mod, or was.  Valve is milking it for all it's worth now and you actually have to pay for it.

half-life is a game, one of the most popular games ever...Counter-Strike is a mod for Half-life.  the way Counter-Strike works is there are 2 teams, 1 team with an objective and the other team to protect the objective.  When you die you're out for that round, the rounds are timed usually at like 2 - 2.5 minutes, so if you die early you have to wait until either the objective is completed/defended or until one whole team dies.

30-45 seconds sounds good to me in pub games. As for clans war, 60 seconds is a good respawn time.

Yes, there I agree, clan wars should be 50 at the min, but pub games at 30-45..... i think like 20-25 is better

Why are you even arguing, respawn times should be constant, so when you go to match there is no complaining. Either that or have no respawns at all.

Since Spook posted this comment it made me think and now my opinion is the same that Spook has. All respawn times should be consistent.

I just thought it was obvious, we already have a problem with people complaining about high respawns in pubs, why make it worse by having them get used to a low time in pubs and a 60 second one in match servers?

Ya, I geuss you have a point spook, but I still thnk they would get kind of used to it if there was only a difference like... mabey 25-40 tops in other servers. Also, if they aren't used to it and don't like it, they just shouldn't paly those servers with 60 second respawn time.

Soldier the problem with your logic is that the 60 second respawn servers have the best map rotations.

Lol, yes they usualy do, but still, there are a few maps with medium respawn (my opinion of medium being 15 [minimum] to 25 [maximum], and mabeeeyyyyyy 30, but those ones usualy are just boring, I don't know what it is) that will have a good map rotation.

Greetings. Just started playing the other day cause Enemy Territory is drying up and we're looking for a new game to play.

Anyhow... I think 60 seconds is fine.  Like jitspoe said, it's round based. There's no way to eliminate the other team if you respawn quickly.  I look at it as a bonus whenever I get to respawn at all. Means it's a good round, or at least now a total raping.

Plus it gives me a chance to look around and learn the maps, which is REALLY cool that you have normal physics in limbo.  Practice jumps and routes etc.

I prefer no respawns in all reality. You die your out for the round end of story, try again next time. If you must have respawns, I think the minimum respawn time should be 60 seconds match or pub. I like playing on syncmasters though because I get a decent ping there. Though with 20 min maps ending with a score of 4-3 and some guy with 90-110 kills, Im not crazy about it at the same time. No respawns eliminate spawn campers totally. If you dont respawn, you cant be spawned camped. The rounds without respawns dont last too long either. If you hate waiting to revive or preferably the round end before you get to play again, its simple dont die. With short respawn times it eliminates the need to get better at all.

respawn is nice when there's just some clueless newb left on your team hiding in a corner against another clueless newb who somehow survived hiding in some other corner waiting. I prefer the longer one though. I like the GT and EV servers.
