Build 18
« on: May 08, 2007, 01:31:38 AM »
till some work to do on the web side of things, but I think the client is ready.

Note: Servers will need to add "setmaster dplogin.com" to their config files in order to show up in the list.  When the public release is made, the current serverlist method will be removed and servers without this config will cease to show up on the list.

Edit: It's official now, you can grab build 18 from the files page: http://digitalpaint.planetquake.gamespy.com/files/

Oh sweet. build 18
Most of the changes from what I understand are in the way that it handles data and networking, so it's not a lot of cosmetics.. I do like the 30 second timeout though.

It's not a bug.  I'm just changing the way the server list system works.

Yes.  Well, technically, I'm just going to switch over to the "live" database from the test one.  The old data will still exist, but effectively it will be gone.

kNoC: It looks like you don't have your profile selected.  Try clicking on it then logging in again.  If that doesn't work, check the console for errors.

I see one major bug so far:  If you try to connect to a server or load a map from the command line or an external program with autologin enabled, the menu stays on the screen.

Probably.  It was completely redone in build 17.

Build 18 is mainly fixes for build 17.  Nothing but major bugs will be fixed for the final.  If there aren't any, this is what you get.  New features will be added in future versions.

New features will be added in future versions.

So you are saying like build 19 probably for new features.

i think that was his plan all along. i think he wanted to get the global login finished and after that was done, the next version would address the features that are in the feature vote thread.

http://dplogin.com/files/clients/windows/paintball2_build018_update_pretest2.exe -- installer version.  The only thing that's changed is that I fixed the bug where the menu is stuck on with autologin while loading a map or connecting to a server from the command line (or external server browser).  If that looks good, I'll get the linux version together and put out an official release.

Note: Servers will need to add "setmaster dplogin.com" to their config files in order to show up in the list.

I added the said line into the config where "setmaster q2master.planetquake.com" and "setmaster master0.gamespy.com" are and my server is not showing up in build18. I just wanted to make sure that I added this to the right place and if I did what is the problem.

ive also noticed build018_pretest2 loads a hell of alot faster than build017_pretest3 or even buil016_final. build018_pretest2 loads in about 1, maybe even 1.5 seconds...

dunno what you did, but id figure id tell you 8^)
good job and good luck!

KiLo: Did you re-execute the config?  Try typing "setmaster dplogin.com" right at the server console.

I've put together a full install: http://dplogin.com/files/clients/windows/paintball2_build018_full_pretest2.exe

I noticed after a fresh install that it was doing the same thing kNoC had a problem with.  I guess I need to put in a check that requires you to have a profile selected before you can attempt to log in.  I think I'll worry about that in a later version, though (hint: vote for it).

Linux version is about done, I think.  I'm heading home this weekend, so the official release probably won't be until next week.

I did re-execute and even restart. But I will try typing it in the server console when I get home.
