Forum ban...
« on: May 10, 2007, 04:33:16 PM »
If i get banned on these forums temporarily or permenantly does that mean that i cannot login ingame either with the same account? or ar the ingame and forum logins independant of one another.

Forum and global login are separate.

They might be tied together later, however.

It would probably be for the best if they were, not to mention I would imagine it would be easier to maintain.

I like the idea of merging them.

I dont think it would be a good idea, because then there would be like a 100 or more new members coming everyday (considering there are like 500 downloads per day) joining the forums. And for what? so they just waste space on the database with 0 posts?

This actually is in the Feature Vote Thread already.

Um...person banned ingame shouldn't be banned on forums, that wouldn't give them a chance to tell us about how they were mowing their lawn when someone went on their computer and installed wallh4x.

That's a likely story. ;D

Yeah when I suggested tying the forum to the global login, I didn't mean bans.

If they were tied together it would probably be easier like I said. But as for the bans , I don't know if it would be a lot of work but it would be nice if jitspoe just had it so like there was two boxes to check (or something like that). One for global login ban and one for forum ban.

Not check boxes as much as database fields... just an int for days they were banned.. 0 would obviously mean none.. Thus it would act like a boolean also..

hm.. if thats the case, then jitspoe is going to have a hard time converting banned ip's from the global ban list, into non-existant accounts...
