Direct Connecting to a Server?

Right now I'm trying to create a server where a few of my friends can play however I'm having a little trouble, I've followed all the instructions on the FAQ server guide yet my server won't pop-up on the server list. I don't have a router but I do have a firewall ( Zonealarm) and I've tried turning it off and checking if the server pops up on the list but it still doesn't. Soooo my questions are what can I do still? and despite the fact that my server doesn't show up on the server list here (
http://dplogin.com/serverlist.php
) is there still a way my buddies can just directly connect to my server without having to go through the game's server list? If so how? Thanks!

How is your network set up?
Does it go: internet cable > modem > computer
Or is there other stuff involved?

You could find your IP at
http://www.ipchicken.com
and give it to them and then they could type:
connect <IP>
in the console.

If your IP isn't on the list, you probably need to add "setmaster dplogin.com" to your config or type it at the server console.
