Global Ban & Login

Jitspoe, when you global ban someone from the game, do you just ban the ip? Do you do anything with regards to their game Account too? Probably sounds stupid if you've already done this but how about flagging the guys account as blocked so they cant log in, and thus cant use the names they previously regged.

Lekky, the only problem with what you are saying is that it is very possible to create more than one account. Changing an IP isn't hard anymore either. The only way to solve the problem with hackers would be to somehow ban their computer itself from playing.

What i mean is that they won't be able to use their preferred name for the period of the ban, if they do manage to get around the ban and carry on playing that is.

I'm not trying to solve the problem, just making it more of a hassle for them.

I got him it was eNergizer , demo and ip sent to jits but i think he had already set the ban.

You are correct...  Jitspoe had other bans set on IPs I extracted from the logs on the eNergizer fool.

Problem with that is it makes it hard to identify ban evaders.  Say player 12345 has a dynamic IP and gets banned, so I ban both his IP and player id.  If he played again with the id 12345, I could add a new IP ban, but that account is banned, so he'd register again and be playing as 12567 or something else.

Yeah, my point is to make it frustrating for them not being able to use their regged name. But then again they probably don't care about that :/
