Jits, you should start up the pickup again. There's no reason you shouldn't. If you just don't want to do it, i'll do it for you. :P

I think maybe this time around we should keep it on one day of the week -- say every Wednesday night?

Theen... we might as well set one up for next Wensday. Maps? (Okay, one HAS to be arenaball pong. It just has to. Unless there's a better pong map...)

BTW, #pbpickup is alive again.

Hm. I looked over BOK, and it actually might work well for pong. Just make some more forward spawns for each team, pong specific, and make it so that some brushes block off the secondary route in pong.

HINT: Use the 'gamemode' key.

Also, if more than 8 people show up, (yeah, right) I think we'll play NORMAL crimethink instead of Pong Arenaball.

:/ block the secondary path in pong....
im not sure, its very hard to make that ball go up the base from the main way.
and what entity shoould i make the brush so i can give it a gamemode value?

Just a normal brush will do. And also, for pong, make the base anywhere past the gate.

A normal brush is worldspawn.  You want a func_wall, though we should probably play-test the map to see if closing off the alternate path is even necessary.

Well, If you get the ball about 1/4 of the way up the cave, then shoot it, it bounces straght into the goal.

... if nobody's there to defend the goal.

Perhaps it would make a good DSM option.  When there are lots of people, it's harder to score goals.

The only way to "Defend" against that is to be standing in the exact spot. ;)

Yes, ALL inside the base. BUT ONLY FOR PONG! You can't get a ball up a ladder. ;)

you can kick it so it goes up all the way up the gate to the base ;)
but that would be very very very very hard.
