Sign me up then. You'll have to PM me the password. I don't have IRC, and I don't want to download a program for only one purpose.

Is it really necessary to "sign up" or can I just show up depending upon the time/date on which I can come? I will probably be attending my first pickup otherwise though  :)

Mantis: I would think this would be because people who aren't supposed to be there would fill up all the spaces provided on the server and each of them that would walk in would need to be briefed on whats going on, etc.

As far as map requests, I can try but you may find my suggestions unacceptable since some of them are kind of old; Roundup, supb, and Jump or Tents perhaps?

This may be the last time Iron allows me to post (lol) for a good reason...so just a map update: I hope to have it finished before school starts. The r_speeds are ranging from 1000-7000 and it's becoming gigantic. I have already thought of the perfect person to let modify it also if I cannot drastically lower the r_speeds. The test version will be posted in 3 months and it will possibly become a 4-team map.

roundup and jumps make good pickup maps -- we've played those before.  Tents looks like it has an issue with the standalone, trans33+trans66 makes the textures use the alpha channel (so it can be used for fences and stuff).  Unfortunately it looks like that's what was done with the glass here so you can't see through it.  Also, I don't like the fact you have to climb a ladder to get to the flag -- if anybody's defending, you'd be pretty much guaranteed to get shot if you went after it.

I never cared for supb... for some reason it's really hard to see the yellow team on that map -- I think it's because the whole thing is practically fullbright.  Plus there's only one path, so... bleh.

Well, I was hoping the player count would increase and we could start playing bigger maps and even get some 4-team pickups going on, but alas, the player count has dwindled to practically nothing, so I think I'm going to stop doing pickups for a while.  I'll do them again when there's enough interest to make it worthwhile, but only having 2 or 3 people show up completely defeats the purpose of it.  On the plus side, there are more people playing regularly on the pubs -- perhaps there's a correlation?

I need as much time as I can get to put into development to get the next version ready in time for dpcon anyway.

Of course, if somebody else wants to run a pickup, go for it.

     Sadly Jits,

Those pubs were playing maps that you want ban. At the time of and after the pick up while I was waiting for others (iron, eiii, taco.. etc) and you, the IOD server was Full and on Que,waiting for players which at the time was playing (one of my personal favorites) Ice and Pb_CUP (A fps training ranked map)

Any ice maps are ok with me but one with a layout you cant hide from is truly god like for honing FPS skills PERIOD. Any "logical" rebuttals?

See through bunkers can not hurt anyone BTW.

Just like jumping on a jump map. Does this not make you a better jumper?

Speaking of jump maps do you wish to ban them also? :)

This is the best way to make players better, period. Maps to improve the player specific ability. Thus map ranking.

The leet ranked maps should be reserved for stats, min amount of players per map (duh) and matches plus pickups and all other manorism of digital paintball ranking, simple as it seems, now getting this organized, thats different.
Thus you leet geeks that care post to be all "knowing" come in to place (eiii, taco, iron) . Contribute some more time into making this game, the way average-player friendly game, a FPS paintball standard. More over if you have time to post make time to play please. I peronsally miss kicking your ass ;)

  Hosting pickups,

I can, but i need an abundance of maps for voted maps (on forum) which i have suggested.
