Why doesn't my map maker work? I downloaded the file for BSP and such from the DP website. I also followed instructions properly. aha i know I'm not totally incompetent and that i CAN read instructions cause i made a server. That works. =) OKAY so please help me out ... again (some might call me a "noob" but you know i try my best

What's going wrong exactly? First of all, you should have downloaded bsp_pb2_build016c.zip from the files page here. After that, just unzipping that zip to C:\ should set it up fine...

I'm on my laptop right no so i cant recheck exactly what it was. but it couldn't find 2 files i think. and when i get in BSP i dint really know how to use it

so yea all it is, is black boxes ann stuff aahaha anyways if u could figure this out that would be great.

Like it sounds like it did work you just dont know how to map with bsp you should prolly learn that before you try and map.

Well i guess it did "work" but when i loaded it up it said 2 files were missing. i was able to find "whatever.pak" (i think thats what it is called) but there was some entity thing that i couldn't find so i clicked cancel. the program opened but i wasn't sure if somethin was missing because i could find the one file.
Also where can i learn to use BSP (is there like a manual on the net somewhere) If there is give me the link that would be really helpful;)

Yeah, check if the file is on BSP/pball2/
Did you installed directly on C?
You should do that, unless you want to modify a few files

Sounds like your paths aren't configured correctly. You shouldn't get any warnings about missing files.

What two files? We fixed this in another thread about 2 weeks ago. Tell me the files so I can see if the link will apply to you.

When not unzipped directly on C:\BSP\ it will always give you errrors about not having 2 files, the pak and the palette I think.
Thats fixed on the new version tho, since it allows for relative paths.

I told you, either change the configuration files, or make a folder called BSP on C:\, put everything there, and it should work.

it is supposed to be a .qc file i think
