New map: MyLand - OUT NOW

CTF - red and blue team. 2 flags for each team, 1 flag 5 points. 1 color does not have advantage over the other color. Total Brushes 891. 8 spawns spots for both teams including 2 rush spawns - loaded co2, barrel, gun, some ammo. Other 6 spawns can find some equipment near the flag(s) or go out from base to search better equipment. All players spawn with co2 though.

Left tunnel goes to either 1st flag or you can take a right turn after you have entered the tunnel and go to 2nd flag. The right "cave" there is the high entrance to the 1st flag. The small little tunnel goes to 2nd flag.

The far left tunnel comes from mid (the very small tunnel i was talking about in sshot 083). The far tunnel on the right side is the "take a right turn to go to 2nd flag"

Remarks:
* Will turn the lighting in that room lower
** The white thing in the middle is supposed to be water, why its not water and why its swiss texture look below

Questions:
1. On sshot 087 you can see white texture in the middle, it is supposed to be water there. But if it is water then if I am at base (the most far position from that area) and I look to mid (where that water should be) then r_speeds raised up to 8600. I tested that with qbsp, would final compile fix it a bit? Or how else I can have just a little bit of water. Err, just did r_speeds 1 with final compile and the highest r_sppeds i got without water was 850 or something, so I guess that qbsp 8600 will go down to about 3000, so that would be ok?

Known bugs: some equipment entities missing(fixed in beta2). Light is flying in the route from flag1 to flag 2. Barrel tops are misaligned on some places. Um, some more, im sure.

FINAL VERSION

extract the .zip file to your Paintball2 folder. Then you get the .loc file and all the files go to pball/maps and pball/textures folder and so on.

It does look very nice, but you should use some of the CTP grass textures, I think they'd look pretty well there.

but you should use some of the CTP grass textures, I think they'd look pretty well there.

I know KiLo, I read :D  I'm saying he SHOULD check them out, specifically for the grass, but thanks for having my back! :D

Fix the textures around the lights so the light only comes out of the intended fixture

Doh, spook beat me too it.

http://www.zone.ee/scythe/dp/map/sshot083.jpg?2 - Those are some REALLY HIGH stone walls.  Perhaps consider a different texture -- maybe stick with the canyon rock.

whats different from b1?
Added a way to get from mid high to the cliffs in high flag area. Added a speedjump from mid low to high flag room.

Known bugs: Some crates are misaligned, barrel tops look funny (radius 24, sides 8, guess thats why), sky is wierd on some areas (my bad).

To do:
mid low to mid high (?)
mid low speedjump easier (?) - so u can get to flag1 without having to stop thanks to the "hole" being so high.
mid low to low flag (?)
relook the jump from midhigh to cliffs base

I used few ctp textures, wont .zip them all atm. Later ;).

Looks pretty good so far.  Is this what you were talking about with the sky? (first shot).  The lighting down in this area needs to be brighter as well.  It's almost pitch black in the middle.  There is a small vis error causing the "hall of mirrors effect" (2nd shot - to the right of the flag - I lowered the FOV to make it easier to see).  Sometimes you can fix these with the use of hint brushes.  Another minor sky issue can be seen in the 3rd shot -- you need to do something to make the end of that wall look a little more solid.  Also, the horizontal boards need their textures rotated.  Wood grain should always go along the length of the board.  I didn't take a screenshot, but the lights around the lower blue flag seem to be slightly misaligned -- all off by 1 or 2 units.  Could just be the texture.

I thought I had the CTP installed on this computer, but I guess not.  I might take a more thorough look at it later, but for now I'm uploading it to the beta server for testing.

About beta 3:
Beta3 is stuck in my computer, im currently using my sisters computer. My comp just randomly turns off. It started weeks ago when i started some game and played it for awhile then the computer collapsed. Now i cant do anything on the comp.

I was told its either motherboard, RAM, or overheating. Well i checked mboard and the "little batteries" were ok (werent expanded or burnt or something. Cant really understand how to check ram. The problem mayy be ovberheating.

anyways i try to upload beta3 with ftp so i can compile it with this compuyter,.

Does it switch off, freeze or reboot?
If it switches off, it's probably a power supply issue.  When my computer overheats it freezes or the motherboard will force the system to reboot, due to it passing the temperature threshold.

It's cheaper than a mobo, ram or CPU.  More expensive than a better CPU fan.

K, after replaceing RAMs (I had 3 places to put them, but 2 of them) the comp starts for 1 sec and then shuts off. So i must have done something wrong. If i get that fixed (maybe i turned rams around :/ or somethin) ill go to some it shop or something.

Most computers have failsafes in them so they will turn off when the CPU overheats instead of frying your components.  Make sure your heatsink has a good, solid contact against the CPU and that all the fans are working.  To test the memory, something like the ultimate boot CD works well.  Just burn a copy on a working computer, then boot it and select one of the memory testing applications, such as memtest86.

Take out everything! Then put things in one by one testing if it turns on and stays on -.-

haha, it beeped when i placed rams back, but they were loose :D.
Im gonna google this cmos now :D
Not so sure about taking everything off ;D

EDIT:
I found a place for that 1 unplugged wire
RAMs are placed correctly im sure 100%
All the fans are working (3 of them)
mboard has no bruises, burn marks etc

so the problem must be power supply.

Good news is: Im on with my comp atm and uploaded .map file ;).

atx-300 was written on my power supply so seeing that it costs like 40$ its less than i expected.

Maybe 300W is too low power to handle your computer, I would suggest more, so that you can be almost sure it won't happen again. Btw. where you connected that wire?

My pc wouldnt turn on because one of my RAM placeholders died, so try just using one if you have multi-RAM sticks. Can't see it being the PSU because you managed to start it up. 300W should be fine Gama. I could run my dual core Atholon with a 256MB gfx card on 230W! (I didn't try to run any games on it O_o)

blaa, try your power supply on your sisters pc and see if it works, or even better take your sisters power supply and try it instead of yours. I bet you get the same problems :P
