Cell phone providers?
« on: July 31, 2007, 11:10:49 AM »
I would like to hear about your cell phone plan and experience with it. I'm looking to get a different service provider. I was thinking t-mobile, they've got some cool phones. (If you remember, my old slider just broke)

Here's a bit of advice don't get T-Mobile it sucks. I knew this girl that had it and she couldn't get service half the time.

I don't know how AT&T is now but when it was Cingular it dropped calls all the time.

I have had Verizon for about 5 years and in that time I think it has dropped maybe 2 calls.

If I was getting a new provider I would probably go with Verizon.

It's up to 10 now I think.

I agree that T-Mobile has better phones but I don't think the service is better.

Myself I would prefer to have a Sidekick with Verizon but that's not going to happen anytime soon.

I don't know if they have it where you are... but I have Alltel... it's like $79.99/mo for my future wifey and I. We share like 1200 minutes, it includes a thousand text/pic/video messages each, "My Circle" which is 10 numbers that count toward mobile to mobile.. it has unlimited mobile to mobile, and nights start at 9.  Add an extra 59.99 a month for BlackBerry service.

Btw, I travel nationwide, and my plan includes no roaming charges... so I usually have great service...

Whatever you do, DONT GET NEXTEL!!!

Ny crackberry 7100i is Nextel due to work, but that's about to change to a samsung 6800 with windows mobile 6 on it on the Sprint network.

For personal use, I have 4 phones on Verizon.  Pretty good coverage unless your'e out here in BFE at my house.....

Well, I'm still liking T-Mobile, because they have the phone I like, and their coverage map says good in my area.

What phone are you looking at? The Sidekick?

Yes and No.

The Nextel service is all 800 MHz analog and the Sprint is all 1900 MHz digital.  You can't take a Sprint phone and operate it on the Nextel iDen network or vis versa.

i have t-mobile and my plan is about $53 if i dont go over anything. its 600 anytime minutes, unlimited nights and weekends, 400 text and picture messages, and probably some other stuff i dont use. but i dont like it and i want to change providers but i still have another full year and couple months before my contract ends :(. the reason i dont like it is because mainly i dont get service in half of my house, at the mall, in the theaters, and many other places. it could be my phone which i doubt but who knows i just dont like it. although it really hasnt dropped too many calls maybe 5 or so which isnt really bad at all. its all up to you and your area because everywhere is different. good luck on what you choose to get. but ass for me when i am done i am going to switch to either at&t or verizon.
