Server Help
« on: August 04, 2007, 09:52:07 PM »
Hi. my server isn't showing up in the list... i can see it but others can't. I tried having them connect to it through connect <ip> and they get connecting... connecting... connecting. I have forwarded ports 27910 and 27900 in my firewall but I'm not sure how to forward them in the other place... your help would be appreciated

Try using http://www.portforward.com if you have a router.

Try typing setmaster dplogin.com in the black "DOS" box.

Also take a peek here, your question may be answered somewhere in there.

I think its under "internet applications" on the firewall's control panel.

darn I don't know how to do it. I just upgraded to the new McAfee Firewall and I haven't learned how to use it yet. I'll post back in a bit on how to do it.

As a temporary solution, you can just turn the firewall off.

I'm assuming you probably have the newest version of McAfee. With the new version it is ten times more confusing to open the port. But we can do it.

1. Open McAfee Security Center.
2. Click Internet & Network.
3. Click the Configur button.
4. Click the Advanced Button.
5. In the window that popped up click System Services.
6. Click the Add button.
7. In this window type the information as follows:
    -Program Name: paintball2
-Incoming/Outgoing TCP/UDP ports: 27910 (just do this for all of them)
8. Click OK.

You should be good to go from there.

If the server is running and you change then you have to re-exec the config file. This can be done by typing exec myserver.cfg in the "DOS" box.

Son of a biscuit. I just updated last night too. If only this problem could have come up a bit sooner.
