Models

Just a quick question about the models... do they show up in qbsp.bat, or do I have to final compile it?
I've entered "model" in the "key" and "models/plants/bigleaf2.md2" in the "value" but the plant's not showing up. Any help on the matter?

No there's just nothing. But I think I may know the problem now.

Edit: problem fixed, for some reason I had to rename the map...>_<

Has anyone made a tree model? Also, are there any more models that I can download?

As of yet, there are very few models made for this game (to be used in maps). Take a look at these threads though:

Basically, if you want a model of an object, you have to make it.

This is confusing........ how would you make the 3D image then paint it? Is there a program?

Well, you don't paint it, you skin it. And there are numerous programs for modeling. Some good ones:

3DS Max
Blender
Wings3D

I would suggest starting with Wings3D. Make a simple model (use a basic shape, as long as it isn't a cube), and find a way to convert it to the skm (or md2, but skm is better) format. Don't worry about skinning it for now.

I forget how (or rather what programs to use) to convert the model. y00tz knows, as well as a few others. Can't remember right off the top of my head.

You would actually benefit much more by going to Blender's or Wings 3D's forums and posting for help there.  We can only tell you what you need to do for Paintball 2, we can't teach you the art of 3D modeling.  As for "is there any models" yes, there are some in production, to be released soon*.  However, I wouldn't recommend making any models to put into the game until you've spent a few months practicing 3D modeling and have followed lots of tutorials.

Also remember even if you can make a model of car or something you can still walk through it.
