That's because it's an easy question :P

Anyway, the euro cups are usually open to all players, including US.

Most of the competitive North American scene is a little older and are enjoying their summer away from college.  Things usually liven up in the fall when people return back to classes.

But only have to be in class 15 hours a week... besides anyone that plays DP is a procrastinator.

EuroPaint is open to North Americans. We've had a decent showing in the two cups so far and they really enjoyed it, ask them :p

Basically we Americans know we are better at DP then Europeans, so we feel no need to beat them with our overwhelming amount of skill.  Meanwhile, the Europeans are always trying to prove themselves, so they regularly host tournaments to try and show who is the best.

The americans plan grand tournaments and leagues, which are really fun, but either die slowly or never reach fruition. The europeans plan simple and quick tournaments which are too short to fall apart but only provide 1 day of play, usually.

All i know is every month or so a group of mainly europeans joined by some NA's get together and spend about 5-6 hours playing some dp and generally having a good time together.

there should be conferences like in major sports (e.g. northern american players, from canada and US; southern american players, US and mexico; northern euro players; southern euro players; and asian/african players since there are probably less from those areas), and have tourneys within the conferences then have the best 3-4 teams from each play each other. there could be player trading, penalties, suspensions, records to break, and referees. It would be a grand ol' time. XD

It would be more west/east euro than north/south.
