Saving settings on PB 2.0
« on: January 08, 2003, 02:27:29 AM »
I installed Paintball 2.0 alpha.. it looks great but I cant get it to save changes for customize controls. Is this a bug or what do I need to do to get it to save changes. It will not save video setting too. Also is there a scope in this like in the old one. Thanks {cf} Snipen

Scope? You're probably just referring to FOV?

It should save the settings in pball/configs/config.cfg when you exit the game.  When you change your video settings, are you hitting "Apply" before you hit esc?

Strange.  Anyone else having this problem?

Does it create a pball/configs/config.cfg?

i've been playing around with it...
vid settings don't get saved to config.cfg, had to edit it manually.
binds didn't get saved at first, but now they suddenly seem to.

Ok, now it's doing it to me... seems after you change the video settings the binds don't save?  I dunno; it's weird.  I'll look into it.

Quick fix -- delete or rename default.cfg.  For some reason it executes this when you start the game... gotta fix that.

As for the hud flickers, can you verify when exactly it disappears?  Try playing it in debug mode and see if you can figure it out.  I'm not sure I can fix it since I don't have a voodoo3 to work with.

c:\paintball2\paintball2 +set deathmatch 1 +set debug1 1 +map midnight

just go to start, run, and paste that line in there.  That's assuming you have paintball2 installed in c:\paintball2.
