OpenGL Problems Again
« on: June 30, 2005, 12:44:05 PM »
Ok,

I have New OpenGL Drivers for my moms video card, I have installed Alpha 13 and the update acording to the Installation guide. But I am still getting the same error that says download the new drivers for your video card. I have a GForce 5200 and that should run Alpha 13 without any problems but it keeps giving me that same error. PLEASE HELP.
Im getting sick of this game giving me that Error everytime I try it on other computers that I know the video card can handle the game.... Somethings wrong with the install or something.
PLEASE HELP.

It happens in both alpha 13 and alpha 14?  What OS are you running?  Can you run other OpenGL games?

Im running Windows XP Pro, And yes other OpenGL Games work just not DP.
Can you make a mirror so I may download Alpha 10or12 ? I think they are the best ones personally.

Don't do any updates.  Just install build 13 clean and fresh.  See if it works.  If not, try build 12:

Alpha 14 will work fine with a 5200, and if you're having problems all the way back to alpha 10, something must be wrong with your drivers.  Are you sure you installed them properly?

Use this driver:

Did you try installing the drivers from the link I gave you?  I still think your drivers aren't installed properly.

I tryed the drivers from the link you gave, but still same problem. I still cannont play DP :(

Is there a quake2 standalone for DP that does not need quake2 installed on my computer? If so please make a link for me to download it, PLEASE.

Um, you already have the standalone...

Try glsetup -- it automatically detects and installs drivers for you: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download383.html

Not sure if it still works or not, but it's worth a shot.

Edit: scratch that.  The thing is ancient -- only works with win9x, lol.

Edit2:  Try this.  Right-click on the desktop, go to "Properties" then the "Settings" tab and click on the "Advanced..." button.  See if there's a Geforce FX tab on there.  If not, you didn't install the drivers properly.  Make sure you have administrator rights when installing drivers.
