North American Clans
« on: September 07, 2007, 05:41:47 AM »
If you're in a North American clan provide a little overview of your clan in this thread.  If you're in a European clan, go make your own thread. ;)

I'll start:

Clan: 20ID
When did the clan start: Fall 2001 (as Team eR33t)
Current activity level: Low, one match per week
Recruiting Status: Very strict invite-only
Brief history:  Created by Blitz and myself under the name Team eR33t, we ran a collection of servers with stats pre-GT existance.  Since then we've hosted 3 of DP's largest cups and recently won the PBCup Spring 2006 4v4 and GGC DPCup competitions.

Try to stick to my format here.  I'm trying to get an idea of how many established clans we have compared to recently started clans.  I'm hoping to start some sort of organized competitive environment in NA that appeals to clans of all skill and experience groups.  Thanks!

Clan: Team coldFusion
When did the clan start: 2002-03 (FourthX)
Current activity level: Medium (few matches a week)
Recruiting Status: Taking tryouts
Brief history:  cF was started by FourthX and Delirious back in 2002-03. I was picked up and was appointed co-leader in a matter of weeks. Was aimed at helping newbies out by training them to be a better player, not only in skill, but is personality. Today its a merge between [cF] coldFusion and .cF. conflict morals. Run by myself, wade, and the ever inactive scribey :P

So strictly only North American clans allowed?

It is geared towards the NA scene in the same manner that EuroPaint is geared towards the EU scene.  I'm sure European teams are more than welcome to play if they don't mind starting matches at 03:00 or pinging 200.  The biggest hurdle for PBCup was scheduling and server conflicts between the two continents.  At the time of PBCup there weren't enough NA or EU teams to satisfy the needs of individual leagues/divisions, but I think things have changed since then.

Clan: InT - In Training
When did the clan start: Summer 2007
Current activity level: Low/medium (1 to a few games a week)
Recruiting Status: Looking for 1-2 more, that meet recquirements.
Brief history:  Created in the middle of summer 2007 by M7Feettall and Rept, InT is a clan dedicated to training players who are new to the DP match/scrim scene. We have training sessions and frequent scrimming against the top clans and beginner clans. We have welcomed new and experinced players who looked to better themselves and to just enjoy the game.

Clan: LeGeNDS
When Did the Clan Start: Late Summer 2007
Current Activity Level: Medium-High (5+ matches per week)
Recruiting Status: Invite Only
Brief History: >LeG< as we are known was reactivated by capo, robinhood and emo (circa) in August of 2007. We are a competitive medium level clan although we tend to match the top level clans. We gladly welcome new members to our clan and new players to the DP2 community (just don't offend me, KiLo). We also encourage new players to get involved in the community by coming to the forums and helping them setup IRC.

What are the match times likely to be (and what timezone obviously)?

Brief history:  We started considerin we are the most popular group of guys, and everyone bows to us when we enter a server (Jus Kiddin) but we started after a few of our members decided to leave DeW and get our own thing going. meh..

Clan: Urban Empire
When did the clan start: mid summer 2007
Current activity level: Medium(5 matches per week.. sometimes more sometimes less[or none])
Recruiting Status: Tryout based on movement, aim, and maturity level(can't match with someone who uses an lol bind, calls hax every two seconds, or sounds like a 4 year old on ts[sorry, it bothers me])
Brief history:  Created mostly by deranged and homingbullet(as well as bullet) after ij-t got killed. We had always been meaning to make a clan together but the bullets wanted to avoid [pA] due to the fact that it had some.. less than tolerable players in it(skill wise and personality wise)

Honestly, what are the odds that most of the clans that are posted on here that started this summer are going to last?
Not to mention they all probably consider 2v2 a match.

if you can work something out..... i.e. seperate w/l records for a NA tourney or regulated matches you could probably count us in as well. i think i'll pester sir and stacy to start matching with the more respectable clans. oh and if anyone needs someone to help practice for matches look us up. we're not elite but we have just enough skill to make it annoying.
