DP Resource Resource Directory
« on: September 11, 2007, 04:09:30 PM »
Talk about repetitive :P

http://digitalpaint.therisenrealm.com/resources

It's for things like DPGet, crosshairs, map sites, whatever.

Just sign up and you can add your own entries.

It replaces the scattered and unorganized "add-on" pages of the original site.

This wouldn't be here today if not for Drupal, the best CMS ever! I could even add a map upload site with thumbnails, search, and comments in not very many clicks, if I had more bandwidth and space. NO PROGRAMMING NEEDED. :D

Looks nice, although ViciouZ's DPGet is under "Online Tools", although it is downloadable.

Also, I've noticed this sweet application isn't on very many lists, yet I find it to be the MOST useful 3rd party script yet.

THe left menu bar seems to be loading below the main content page.

Other than that, good job.

It's purposely coded that way, for search engines.

 Hi, I found a mistake:
Quote
Deathmatch

The point in a deathmatch is to eradicate the other team to score one point.
There are no teams in deathmatch in dp ;).

Also
Quote
1-Flag Capture the Flag

1-Flag has only one neutral flag. Capturing the neutral flag flag and returning it to an opposing team's base will score five points. Eradicating the other team with the flag in your hands will score two points. Just eradicating the other team will score one point.
Afaik it can have more than 1 neutral flag (pp1 1flag has 2 white flags) and if i remember correctly then the cap spot can be altered. Sometimes to your own base, sometimes to enemys base. Depending on where the mapper wanted you to cap, or the dude who created .ent file.

Quote
Siege

In siege, a team holds control of a fort, or at least an area. That team cannot leave that area (or they are eliminated for the round). The opposing team must enter the fort, capture the flag, and return back to their own area to score five points. Eradicating the other team with the flag obtained will score two points. Eradicating the other team will score one point.

You could also add that teams switch roles after each round.

Quote
Ladder Jumping

Right at the top of a ladder when you climb, there is a spot where you can tap the jump key and you will gain higher attitude than you would normally from climbing all the way.

I would add that you should climb as high as you can see over the top of the ladder and then tap the jump key. "certain spot" feels a bit confusing.

The site looks darn impressive.

- "elim" would be team deathmatch where you score 1 point for eliminating the opposing team; "deathmatch" is FFA, so you score a point per kill
- in "siege", the defenders score a point for each killed attacker

How do you set elim in a map by the way? I've played elim before I believe.

I think

Code: [Select]
map <mapname> elim
or

Code: [Select]
newmap <mapname> elim

Isnt it something like 'set gamemode #'? Where # would be like 1 or 0 I believe, since above those values its the other normal gamemodes.

I'm wondering about putting it in the actual map file.
