Reminds me of the massive dorm servers that happened last year. ~10-20 people on a server, no lag. Its even better when 3 of the guys on your team are in the same room as you.

I like playing with people I know, because even if you hate each other, there's just something special about realizing you like the same games that makes you say "good game" at the end.

Kinda like how a kid from another town and I each got yellow cards for pushing each other in the soccer match the other day at the school, but at the end he shook my hand and laughed it off. XD The fact that I'm about a foot taller than him and have a nasty disposition had nothing to do with it, I'm sure.

Okaym I'm bringin up a REALLY old thread simply because it has the topic name that I want to use and it is related (not wasting forum space - look at mr. economical!).
I want to play dp2 at school. The windows firewall blocks it (I'm not an admin). Is there a command prompt message/general command that I can use to disable the windows firewall?

Hehe, i love people trying to get around it. From my previous post from like last year was wrong. Build 16 never saw servers at school, but then when I got build 18 it did. Filters..... Hmm..... Since I do alot of adminning work at school i'll ask one of the technichions (ones that have full admin) what they do 2 block em. Might help.

Also if ur trying to get to a site just use cmd and ping to that site. Then get the I.P address and paste it in the address bar. Mostly it works. Thats how I managed to download the game at school.

The admin isnt blocking it. I'm good friends with him. He was going to disable the windows firewall....until senior management decided to ban all fpses in school. crud.
Still, I can still use command prompt on a group of 3 computers in the music room, but not be the admin.
Can someone PM me with a way of getting into the admin's account on a pw protected admin normal home computer-style xp professional computer? It's not on a school network, but is on a LAN in the music room.

Chances are, if you don't have admin privileges, you probably don't even have access to cmd. That's how it is at our school...

Edit: Didn't read where you said you DID have cmd access. I still don't think you would be able to take down the firewall, though. And if you could, I reckon it would have some serious consequences if they found out you did, even for a few moments. Our network admins get touchy about that.

brings me back to the days me and friends used to hack pranks over our HS network... I suggest not messing on them unless you're sure what you're doing, or know that you won't get in trouble if you get caught...

Also if you access out of the school network, there's still the district network run by smarter tech's... thats why we never messed around doing anything online...

Our school doesn't care about us trying to get to things like that, as long as we don't actually succeed in doing so. I've seen guys try to bring up porn sites, online drug paraphinalia (sp?) stores, etc. and nothing happens until they do find one that works.

Strict, man i feel sorry for you. Heres some steps to success:

1: Open Notepad
2: Type "command.com" (without the "")
3: Save it as a .bat file
4: Run it
5: It will boot a cmd prompt window
6: Type "ping www.youtube.com" (without the "") or what ever web address you want
7: Copy and Paste the I.P. Address in the address bar.
8: Hit enter and the site will load.

Sometimes though it will come up with some apache excrement but on all sites like YouTube and MySpace it works fine on.

Depends on what level of protection the school/district has. I've seen some that block per-ip and others that just block based on what URL you request.

My school is just block address. No-one except me and a couple of friends know how to do that. Also we managed to get into the servers and get our windows profile and all of this stuff.

Or, instead of steps 1-4, just hit the win key (windows logo) and "r" then type "cmd" in the box and hit enter.

Thats why i told you to create the batch file. When you try to run cmd or something or even run itself it says "Command Prompt" or "Run has been disabled by your system Administrator". Although don't cry if the batch comes up with an error when it closes, it always does that.
