The issue of multiple accounts is not always clean and simple to resolve. Many people share the same IP and/or computer, so it's not just a simple matter of "same ip = multiple accounts". It requires some investigation, and I don't have the time to sit down and check into every single case - that's what I'm setting up the committee for. If I just quickly take action, I'll end up with people like Y2J whining and crying about how I didn't spend enough time investigating then post attacks on the forums, sign me up for porn mailings, and do other crap I'd prefer not to deal with.
I try my best to be fair, and there's no way I can feasibly look into all of these things, code updates, ban cheaters, play tech support, etc., and still have free time of my own. I think many of you expect too much of me. I am human, after all. It's much more realistic to spread the workload across 10 or so people. There's a sticky thread y00tz created to post suspected duplicate accounts. Post this there if you haven't already. Once the committee is established, we'll go through and investigate everything in the thread and decide on appropriate punishments. I have other things to deal with now.
