About clans
« on: October 01, 2007, 06:14:58 PM »
Hey, i got a lil suggestion to make, it would be about adding more clan classes on dplogin.com. for exemple:

Leaders :wich can do just about everything, ban, accept offers, send invites, make people leaders, members, co-leaders or in-training members.

Co-leaders : almost leaders(trusted and skilled> members) can send invites or make people in-training members.

Members : Play and hope to have a higher grade> someday.

In-training members: if u send an invite to the clan and they accept(or the opposite) this is ur startin point and after a bit of time you may become member if the leaders find you god enough.

It's a nice idea, it gets rid of the "main clan's trainee clan" situation.

Also, my idea of giving individual clans classes/rankings:
Class A: noob clans (DB, TopG)
Class AA: decent, well-organized clans (AG, InT)
Class AAA: vet clans (GT, CC, MeMi, ij)

Who are you Mag1C?  I like the idea, submit it to the Official Feature Vote 2007 thread.

well, I got this ranking system from how people rank marching bands, so I don't know how the major/minor would work.

Ij = AAA.
after further thought, sure.

I'm liking the whole "A" thing, we should use that. Like on the clan pages there is Little A's under the clan name. This could be associated with my idea of a global ranking system(which I already submitted in the feature vote thread).

u should have like the commite get set up and decide if a clan is a, aa or aaa then that way we can have the begging of league set up base and some add it to the clans part of this site then maybe we can have a league website set up for each division

now that we have a login system, it'd be cool to have a ranking system not like stats but like actual ranks either military or something else, with like awards, ribbons and what not for stuff along the lines off accuracy. streak, total kills, stuff like that.  a good example would be like the Battlefield 2 or 2142 ranking systems.  I feel it would ad great dynamic to the game at get people even more active in pubs because there is some incentive there to do well.

anyone think this is good for official feature vote?

Three classes of clans would be too many subdivisions for a clan community of this size. I think teams that have farm teams are doing the right thing. If your team is well established, run a farm team, get these stupid kids on IRC and show them how to play. Just call the farm team games scrimmages. I know from my time in Starz, we developed several talented players off the farm team. Some will stay with Starz and get promoted, and some will go on to other teams. Bottom line, more knowledgeable players = more clans.
