I got bored and finished making a setup guide for Ventrilo for our clan. I don't know if this will come in handy for other people so I'll put it here too. Here's the link.

Cool, looks good. Perhaps putting a link to the official download site might be a good idea, so that the newest version can be downloaded when required?

Can you only connect to a server with the same client version?

Maybe its best how it is then nopyo

Yeah, I tried it using a newer version and it doesn't work. I also changed the "NOTE" at the top to specify it.

There is a version somewhere can work with any version.

On that note you also might want to explain in more detail (regarding the voice tab) what the setup functions do for the laymen.

Nice job! I could definitly use this. I have vent and know all of this, but I have some friends That just started playing and getting into the clan scene. This will help them alot

The link I might be able to dig up. Until have someone ask Haze, he is the one that told me about it. You might want to consider an additional expansion for new admins in that guide or another guide for example:

Setting up shop for new admins
Shoring up lose ends...etc.

Keep at it. Fine job either way.

Right now, I don't know much about Ventrilo administration, but I'll look into that when I have more time.

Can u update the server to 2.3.x?

Download version 2.1.4. I think that's what everyone uses.

The new version limits servers to 8 users.

As in the "free" version. Full has no limits.

A lot of Vent servers being used now are Full versions.

You have to pay for the full version. Last I checked you couldn't even purchase it. You have to lease it.

Has anyone used Teamspeak? I'm just curious as to why Vent is preferred over it.
