GlobalGamers 3rd Anniversary Tournament!
This tournament is a 1v1 DM Knockout, and will take place on the 14th of November at 5:30GMT. Servers that will be used are Kyuuchi's, and T3RR0R15T's.
It will have 2 brackets, one for the winners of each dual, and the other for the losers of each dual. At the end, the winner of the winners will play the winner of the losers for the title!
In the tournament, there will be 5 maps for you to one-by-one knockout. So, each player eliminates 1 map each. The remaining map will be the map you play.
MAXIMUM OF 16 PLAYERS!!!!

All maps are to be played with mode DM. If any map is played with CTF or 1Flag mode, disqualification may take place.
The settings are:
Guntemp on.
Timelimit 10
Fraglimit 15
Normal guns, not PGP.

Btw, on topic, rethink the maps, this ones requires only 1 skill without thinking (I know it's an advantage for Rocky and especially Zim), but some of us would like a challenge.

What maps are you suggesting? They are the only ones I could think of.. Had brain freeze.
Edit: Yeah Jusu. Easier to organize, and then we don't have soo many missing gaps because we can have reserve players. Also, there is only probably 16 active people on the forums anyhow. So I don't see a problem. ;]

Go with PB_cup maps + someofthegoodmapsthatIjustcanthinkofanyrightnow.

Its 1v1, after 1 point, people may just hide and waste the 10minutes so that they can win.
Thats why we have maps that mean you cannot hide whenever you have 1 point.

btw you will play on euro servers when 90% are americans? :D
you should make one tournament for each continent and after final cup with two americans and two euro servers. its my opinion :)

What is wrong with you europeans making us play you with guntemp and maps that you can't hit jack excrement on like theice? Take that off and put something like shock w/ no flag, ORRRRRRRRRR the original propaint. ORRRRRRR theice3 with no flag.

I'll throw in some servers if the americans get their own group or half of a bigger bracket.
Is there enough interest to run a bigger 1v1 tournament? Either one map all tournament, or 3/5 maps with elimination like this one.

Yeah, I asked Bain whether or not he wants to do his original idea of a European, and American bracket. If there is, we will probably have guntemp off.

Here were some suggestions PMed to me on IRC, so I'm just relaying those:

- Remove theice from the maplist
- Possibly remove xbmap1, too, due to FPS issues for many players
- No flags so the points only come from frags

I also want to point out that there will be US servers, one way or another. :) I think it would be great to do two brackets, so hopefully we can iron out the details quickly and let everyone know what's going on.

Hmm, sure. But this may become Europe and USA separately, so that means Europeans will have the non-laggy version for them, and vice-versa for the Americans.

Thats why it's DM. :P Deathmatch means no flags. ;)

Read as: If we can't bribe XtremeBain to his satisfaction, then GG will probably have to dig up some American servers, which will result in numerous complaints because we're going to get a server config wrong or someone will have a bad ping. :P
Clearly, the only good course of action is a bribe.

But other maps could be like blitz, barrels, indune, shazamr or shazam.

Just to clarify, since there seems to be some confusion, there will be one tournament but the bracket will be divided by region. So Americans will start out playing other Americans while Europeans play other Europeans. The final match will be the winner of the American side vs. the winner of the European side. Since we're adding more players to the tournament and dividing most of it by region, there will be two 3rd place prizes, that way more people can win a prize. :)

EDIT: I have a question:
Wouldn't it be better to play this in TDM mode? Cause when you play DM then you can spawnkill easily on some maps like back2back, ub_cliff or on pbcup bcause the 2nd one couldn't find guns or so..

Ehm, we will check this mode out later. At the moment, we are setting up the tournament website, and fixtures.
After fixtures have been organized, servers and other details will be available.
