Extract this .zip file to C:/games/paintball2/pball/pics and it will replace your painty old colors with a fresh new look.

I did this cause I wanted something new. You don't have to use them, if you want your old ones back than just reinstall the build 16 update.
-
im gonna use it thanks i like changes to the format it keeps me more interested :D thanks
-
No problem :) (It looks alot better in game than it does in the screenshot. for some reason it scaled and makes it look funky.)
-
smaller please :)
-
noo way i like them big, kinda like quake 3. i can see them easier.
-
Could you possibly use the numbers from warsow? :]
-
are they copyrighted?
-
gpl.
-
I like.
-
yeah they look really good on my game thanks tom
-

Im using it, i dont like the size or color. but its better than the normal hudZ
-
suggestions for other colors/sizes/fonts welcome.
-
you better be working on mine =]
-
I am. I am going to pick a different font this time however, cause skater was complaining about it.
-
Content modification...ALERT...ALERT.
If this is legal I guess modifying character skins is too!!!
Let's pass around some really nive visible player skins!!!
ooo and ball skins
and wall splat skins...got to see where the balls are hitting, right?
Hell let's get in there and just ript it all up...someone pass around a complete content edit pack...I guess it's open season on editing content now!!!
w00hoo!!!
-
erm S8N, i´d say this what tom is sharing with others isnt seen as "cheating" by jits, by me also.
-
s8n, wow. Jitspoe has stated before that modifying your HUD is NOT, i repeat, is NOT considered hacking. But changing player skins/textures/gun skins IS hacking.
-
was a joke fellas
-
what if... i dont believe you? :)
-
s8n, wow. Jitspoe has stated before that modifying your HUD is NOT, i repeat, is NOT considered hacking
.
Unless it gives you an advantage, so, i dont think there should be a problem with that.
-
They look really ugly.
-
I was really kidding.
But if you want to argue the "unfair advantage" argument, i'll roll!
I'm sure being able to view some of the data that those numbers represent could be used as an advantage.
You can see your ammo alot better. You can see the score alot better.
Yeah, that would be an advantage, I think so.
I don't much care, mind you, but having really bright scores and ammo would be an advantage.
I'm thinking so would crosshairs too.
If you are going to attempt to put everyone on a level playing field you have to lock everything down.
Nothing, besides custom maps and map textures, that eveyrone will view equally, should be allowed to be changed.
Don't really care to start no arguement...afterall it may be another month before I'm back around...just pointing out that "unfair advantage" has to encompass all modifications in order to be, well, "fair".
-
What if you are visually impaired and cannot see red? Pretty sure the default text is red.
-
Digital Paintball 2 build 16 Color Blind edition!
-
i know a few people who are red/green color blinded so this is nice for them
-
I'm red/green color blind, I also can't tell the difference between blue and orange very well. I use the tremulous graphics for anum_#'s, and for the image crammed with all the console/talk letters and numbers. It'd be nice for the next build to have models that have the colors shaded a lot differently so that it's easier to tell who's who, but you don't gotta...I'm used to having games with colors reject me. lol
-
tinman just needs the world to love him...
-
I know right?
Even Penny-Arcade made fun of me in a way...a while back...and I thought I could depend on them.
http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2006/03/22
-
I like.
Don't think it really matters if you like them or not, you can't legally play anyway.
-
lol, denied.
-
I like.

true dat true dat.
-
dam d00d yur inzults r 2 grate 4 me.

I was really kidding.
What if... me too? ;)
-
Digital Paint 2 - Build :..:::.. - Brail Edition for the visually impaired.
Any attempt to add something to the game is a plus as long as it's legal. Nothing wrong with giving players an alternative way to view their game HUD.
Good job Tom... I'll watch for other choices as they are created. ;)
-
gun skins? hacking if you change the colour of ´em?
-
I would think so... depending on the colors used to make the gun, a person could make them bright thus making other players more visible that are holding them.
I would say altering anything inside the playing field itself would be cheating.
Agreed? :)
-
I would think so... depending on the colors used to make the gun, a person could make them bright thus making other players more visible that are holding them.
But it'd have to be the carbine. ;)
-
??? HuH?? It would be any gun, or any object within the playing field...
Hey on another note wouldn't it be nice if we were allowed to use custom player skins, clan skins and custom models. I used to love all the different players skins in Quake 2. I still have a huge collection of them.
In real paintball the people playing are certainly NOT wearing the same outfit and they certainly are NOT all the same size.
Nothin like the old Crakhor skins!!
Hahaha I just got this sick visual of paint splattering one of those old nekkid crakhors ;D Okay Okay I know... Perverted huh? hehehe ;D
-
??? HuH?? It would be any gun, or any object within the playing field...
Heh, I was just making fun of the fact that players can only be seen holding the carbine. You did say color the gun to make the player more visible, after all.
-
You have a point... what do you think about the latter part of what I'm saying?
-
Modifying textures is cheating? I agree.
-
Agreed, but I was asking what you thought about how neat it would be if we could use other custom player models. There were hundreds of different player models for Q2 in the day and some were so hilereous. It really made the game fun IMHO.
We could make a server that allows other player models and keep the others as they are. It would be neat to see other clans create their own team uniforms...
Just a thought :)
-
Vote for it when I poll requests for the next build.
-
I think it'd be better if you could only change certain colors/decals on the supported skin- otherwise someone could make themselves all black.
-
Yeah there was also the notorious black skinned model in Quake 2.
Maybe there could be a way to screen the skins as they are created by posting them on this forum in a special section or have a designated person judge them. Skins or models that are that extreme and obviously made to make the person almost impossible to see would be illegal. It could be a rule that clan's [TAG]s be in bright colors for the clan models.
As in any idea there are those that may choose to exploit it's originally intended purpose.
I keep referring to the many old Q2 models that were out there but there was some awesome talent in a lot of them and it really made what had become an otherwise dull game, fun again.
I'm curious if the player skins option was turned on the servers if any of the old Q2 player models would still work? Probably not but it would be nice! LOL
Again, we could have servers that allow modified player skins and those that don't.
I am a firm believer in offering a variety of ways to play the game. 8)
-
I don't think the current models are too bad, as it is very easy to distinguish between the colors and thus the teams. Allowing personalized models would only be good in DM mode I think, and I'm not completely sure, but didnt the CTF/TDM models have team specific colors as well in the quake series?
-
When people made player models for Q2, they included all colors used in the game so on CTF/TDM games the model, no matter what the model was of, would have it's team colors IE: yellow, red, blue, purple.
Also, keep in mind this idea is in no way meant to down the current player models of DP.
It is simply to add something new to the game and give users another option of how they would like to play...
Hence servers that allow people to display their creative custom skins/models and regular servers that use only the standard models.
Also, remember that if you don't have the skin that someone else in the game is using then you would see the standard model... In Q2 it was the GRUNT. So there would need to be a place to upload skins which brings me to another thought.
We also need a place where people can login into a site and upload maps or player skins, have them reviewed and others could have the ability to login to the site and download these items.
Dang I'm brainstorming today!! :o
-
You mean like this? http://maprating.ma.funpic.de/index.php
-
No Way.. I can't make heads or tails out of that page because some German popup poo keeps popping up in front of it...
-
Vote for it when I poll requests for the next build.
Consider it voted on. Yes. With restrictions
-
I like the new numbers in the HUD. Might mess a bit with the color though.
-
great job tom i liek the small blue ones...
-
Tommy V you ever gonna do my original request?
-
Spook, let me tell you a story about a person named.. NO.
Lol just kidding :) I have been busy with soccer, so yeah i'll find some time to do it later. blue on the outside white in the middle.
-
I'm really amazed that none of you think being able to see your score or ammo better than the next person is not considered an unfair advantage, however small of one it may be. Ammo and score are crucial items that can make or break a close match.
Just the split second it takes to have to squint to see the score, verses seeing you scroe easily because you have these gleaming neon numbers that a blind man could see through the back of his head, could make a difference. Out of the corner of my eye my neon numbers tell me I must cap being down by 3 instead of kill...I don't have to make an effort to look over there, the numbers are bright enough to see easily out of the corner of my eye.
Say i've been in a recent fight. Recon tells me more are coming my way. I'm thinking fast on getting into position to have an advantage. My gleaming numbers tell me i'm down to 20 paintballs...MOTHER OF GOD...I better create more distance between me and the incoming enemy so I can reload some paintballs.
There is no denying it's an unfair advantage. It may seem like an insignificant one to all of you, but it is one, none the less. More so than custom crosshairs, which are also.
You can deny it all you want. Or brush it off, or turn you back to it, but it is an unfair advantage. I'll use them, hell yeah. They're the same as any other skin/model modification to me. I'll use them all and still suck, but that's beyond the point.
-
I'll have a double of what he's drinkin!! ::)
-
[14:29 PM] <+lords8n> whatever...you people floor me...you have no grasp of reality...funny how people even survive life. <-- can you really diagnose that over the internet?
How could we not see this!? He's right, we're all lifeless morons... :'(
-
know this has nothing to do with what you are talking about now, came a little late but...
these are the files for the original red painty numbers
-
Thanks smackwaters. This will be good for people who want to change back to the default numbers.

the fact of the matter is that these are not neon numbers.
-
I find some of them more difficult to read than the standard HUD, actually.
-
the blue ones are alil harder to see than the yellow ones i use the blue ones though...
-
bumping this for pyro's lazy ass. sry. also if anyone has some good fonts, and good color schemes, tell me. and be SPECIFIC *ahem* spook *ahem*
-
ahem how abouta black outline on numbers then dark blue inner outline then fill in the center with silver. hmmph
-
I made a hud design but i don't think it went over well... I like this hud but, it's really bright and big and distracts me sometimes. I tried it but went back to the old hud.
