Title: I might be a super taster.
Post by: jitspoe on November 16, 2006, 03:34:08 PM: My coworker mentioned something about this. Apparently super tasters have a heightened sense of taste and don't like things like alcohol and coffee. They also tend to be thinner.

The first time I ever had one of those scarily acidic "Atomic Waste" sweets, I went home and used some equally vile tasting mouthwash to get rid of the taste. About a week later I saw a program on TV about supertasters, and really extreme people, say, who think rice has a very strong flavour.

4 parts Jim Beam Black® Bourbon
1 ½ parts DeKuyper® Amaretto Liqueur
2 drops bitters
Splash of fresh squeezed orange juice
2 lime wedges

In a 10 oz. martini shell combine Jim Beam Black® Bourbon, amaretto, bitters and orange juice. Muddle with lime wedges. Serve up with orange wheel.

It's rather good......and as for i taste what i smell comment...that was Gross!! :P

i remembered this thread and always wondered if i were a supertaster as well. All i taste when i drink beer is the alcohol, and i hate coffee and grapefruit juice too. Well i took a look on wikipedia, and it looks to me like i am one.

My step dad is the regional service manager for superior coffee. He Manages over 17 states (mostly the north eastern region of America, and the southwest region too, including California) so I definitely love coffee. straight black FTW too.
