I agree w/ Spook. When the idiots become too much, just step away for a little bit. You know you are gonna wanna play later, and a thread like this just opens the door for idiots like Robbie. Robbie, you are garbage. You are a terrible player and a cancer to this forum. You can say whatever you want, but everyone (including you) knows its true. So leave KIES alone and find something you're actually good at, like flipping burgers.

Interesting stats, however keeping valuable data on your computer is just a bad idea. That's one of my major issues with Outlook. Cloud computing for FTW. Thats the hope anyways. That all your content will be on the web and you could access anything you want from any computer. So you have the exact same experience no matter what hardware you are on.

Notice that my stats included exchange server. I agree that keeping important data on a single computer is a no-no. I don;t recommend using Outlook in single user mode (pst files). That is why i employ the use of Microsoft exchange server. It runs on actual server hardware, is backed up nightly, and is also accessible from anywhere. :-)

I don't know the last time any of you used Outlook, but they have made wondrous improvements in security. I like v2007 alot. Oh and yes people use it, Outlook/Exchange has about a 55% market share and it has been growing at a rate of about 14-17% for the past several years, so....

Also, it's not so much the application as it is the moronic things people do online. I agree that Firefox is better than IE, but if you are just smart about what you are doing you will not get infected using IE.

I use AVG and Malwarebytes as well. No need for a subscription service. However if you really want one, I'd go with CA Internet Security. The new version is pretty sweet.

Does anyone else's fps drop to like 30 when you are in certain areas of this map? I normally have fps > 500, and this map screen lagged me like woah.

Server Discussion / Re: Way to remove someone as operator?
« on: June 30, 2009, 10:29:43 AM »
lol...okay...whatever.

Well your specific question has already been specifically answered: There isn't a way to deop someone else other than kicking them. An even if you kick them, the way they were op'ed in the first place is because they have the pass, so they are just gonna re-op. So simply don't give out the pass and you will be fine.

Yeah there are like 5 levels of admin. What I would do is reset the password for the highest level (oppass5), and keep that only for yourself. then you can give out the 50 or 100 level pass to other people so they can do general admin functions. You can also customize what every level can do in the commands.txt file (located in C:\Games\Paintball2\pball\configs). Each function has a level next to it. If you want to allow or deny an admin function for a certain level, just modify the number following the command. Be careful with it though or you could jack stuff up. If you need help, pm me or find me on irc.

maxownage - I created this name when i first started playing paintball. I started playing paintball with some of the kids @ the school after they finished their assignment. They sucked; I ruled. It was total domination, thus I was deemed max ownage.

papasmurf - the only name I brought over from another online game I used to play. That game had problems with guys "smurfing" during matches; so I just created the name to kinda poke fun at the whole fiasco.

whytry - another name I created while playing with the kids at school. As in, why try to beat me?

maxxx - A variation of max ownage. Aparently max ownage is too long when I put on my clan tag, so I use this in matches sometimes.

m4xown - Same as above. I created this one in case I wanted to put my clan tag at the end of my name. M4xOwn=eJ= (clever..I know).

fumunda - decided this was a better fit after I started matching. Max Ownage doesn't work too well when people are beating you like a red-headed step-child. I got it from somethin me and my friends used to joke about in college.

"Fumunda deez nutz! ahhhh lolz."

Juvenile...I know.

I'll never forget the day I was trying to run the kids out of the computer lab after school, and I told em like 3 times to save their work and get off. Well this one kid was playing Runescape and apparently didn't hear me telling everyone to save and leave. So I start the lab shutdown, and he was in the middle of a battle. His character lost and he lost all his money, and he was almost in tears. I almost felt bad, but it was just too funny.

Well this uniformed foreigner hopes that one day you will have an accident, shoot someone in your family or get shot by one of them. Now that would be an irony, wouldn't you agree?

Wow that's an awful thing to say.

I don't think it is appropriate. But I don't think it's feasible that the committee could go through everyone's names and rule what is appropriate and what is not. Especially since eveyone can have multiple names and can pretty much create a new one whenever they want.

I think the best way to handle it would be on the server level. If someone joins up w/ an inappropriate name, the server admin should tell him to change his name; if he doesn't then he should just kick/temp ban him and tell him not to come back unless he changes it.

I don't think it has anything to do with which browser you are using. I use IE8 and have no problems with facebook. I do occasionally get a "page cannot be displayed" error when navigating fb but that is their issue, not mine.

I think your computer is sick. This thread started with you not being able to get on facebook, and now you can't open firefox, iTunes, malwarebytes...sounds like something is up.

Have you ever been able to access facebook from that computer? If so, when did it stop working? Is the computer running slow right now or performing poorly? Are there any other applications that used to work which now all of a sudden don't seem to open? Have you checked the system and application event log for error messages that may give a symptom of the problem?

Issues for Committee Review / Re: Committee Members (#3 - June 2009)
« on: June 12, 2009, 09:48:09 AM »
I don't know why people are so worked up about the committee members. As long as they take care of cheaters in a timely fashion, who cares who's on the committee? It's not like these people are going to drastically affect a person's enjoyment of playing paintball. As long as you are not a cheater, you will have virtually NO interaction with them; so I don't see what the big deal is. Everyone just needs to chill.

GL new committee members, I am sure you will do a fine job.

Other Stuff / Anyone here ever play Tribes? (old game)
« on: June 12, 2009, 09:34:43 AM »
Tribes was an online CTF game I used to play back when I was in college. Alot of the game elements are similar to paintball.

So I was just curious, since DP Paintball has been around for a while, and Tribes is a pretty old game, has anyone here played it? I think Tribes came out back in 1997. There was a follow-up to it, Tribes2, that came out in 2001.

I was just curious if anyone here played those games and, if so, what was your name in the game and what clan you were in? This is obviously for older players of course; some of you youngens wouldn't have any idea what I am talkin about.

For Tribes my name was Ace13, and I played for Pk^ and [c4] for Tribes. I was in AFO for Tribes 2. Just lemme know. Thanks. :-)
